You know, it's already kind of lame that you didn't give pre-orders access on the 22nd. The only reason I pre-ordered it was because I thought I was going to get early access, but that's on me for not doing enough research I guess. I play almost entirely remotely so even if I had pre-ordered the bundle with the other game in it I wouldn't have been able to play it because there's no online support for it. My players and I had planned on logging on tonight to do session 0 so that we could roll up characters when it released, but now we have to wait until next week just... because. I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed and I will not be pre-ordering anything else in the future.
Oh nope the website is not working ether. This should have been working no later then 00:00 pst.this is nowhere near your first online book. And people has had this book for 2 weeks. This is totally unacceptable. Shame on you dndbyond shame

If you'd ordered the physical+digital bundle, you'd have been able to play Shadow of the Dragon Queen since the 22nd, so there would have been a point to it. It would have been quite expensive for you, and I'm not saying it would have been a good deal, just saying that there would have been an upside to that decision had you made it.
That said, I can't say I approve of the pressure WotC is exerting on players to upgrade by having a product that they'd already paid for ready to roll*, but refusing to give it unless they upgrade their product, even if they weren't otherwise interested in the deal. At the very least, all DDB preorders should have been released on the 22nd. If they were in a position to release the physical product too, then that too - but we know for a fact that the digital product was ready two weeks ago. I won't go in for these deals for that reason - I'd be rewarding, which iss effectively paying WotC, for not providing a service to others. If they want my money, they need to be working to providing me with a service, not simply denying others a service (or at the very least, prioritising me with the allocation of scarce resources, which isn't applicable here, with the artificial two tier system).
* As much as ready means with their releases.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
No release and Midnight!! This is ridiculous this should have been ready to go hours ago with everyone doing pre-orders. Next time say Release date between the hours of midnight and 8AM. The cable guy has better service. Would have loved to do physical pre-order but shipping any where outside of the USA is such a rip-off with shipping.
It's not due to be released for another hour yet...

It’s not out yet, big shock. Been a dumpster fire of support ever since the takeover. If you’re gonna delay it, you could at least do what you said you’d do. No follow thru.
I was able to download it, but the player options are still not in the character builder in my app or on the website. What’s going on? This was my first preorder. Is this normal?
Because, in the well over a decade long history of digital content releases, very, very, very few digital releases arrive exactly on time. Between needing to make sure everything actually works, server overloads due to many folks trying to access the new content at the exact same time, and countless other factors, things just never tend to move smoothly.
It is online for me now, less than a half hour after intended release - that’s well within the acceptable margin of error for this kind of thing.
The number of people on here who don't seem to understand what a "pre-order bonus" is is staggering. Of course they give the product 2 weeks early for people who pre-ordered it *when they said that's what they'd do*.
As for the rest, having a specific time of release for a product, even digital, is quite common. There are some weird consumership laws that govern digital releases of physical products.
As for it not being ready on time, *shrugs* that could be for any number of reasons outside of their control, but what would be the possible reason they'd delay it other than there's a problem? It's certainly not to spite people or somehow be online dillweeds.
Tldr, take a deep breath and calm down, my dudes. Everything will come out in the wash eventually. And let's be honest, your session 0 was going to be cancelled or delayed anyway.

What timezone does it release? Is the release time adjusted to your timezone, or is it december 6th [WOTC's location timezone]?

It seems it's difficult to press a button these days at Wizards :D
Edit: I am getting an 'Internal Server error' now. We are getting there, baby steps by baby steps.

It's telling me I still need to purchase it despite owning it digitally
