If it was a good faith error then they're fine. I think an email saying that a product which was normally $899 was $8.99 (I'm guessing it was a case of a misplaced decimal point) would be considered an honest mistake. DDB gave a full refund and even offered a discount worth more than what the user had paid. Even without the voucher, it would most likely have been accepted as fine if a dispute was raised (PC World, a computer retailer in the UK, has done much worse to me personally). With the voucher showing a net loss on their part when the entire transaction was obviously an error? Slam dunk.

Yeah. Gonna say they aren't villains for this one. I mean, I'd be a little sad my nearly-free Legendary Bundle got repo'd, but then again I wouldn't have believed the $8.99 price point in the first placer. A half-off coupon for one book that's worth half again the nine bucks, plus a full refund of the nine bucks, seems like a fair cop for them fixing a code bug. They're giving you ~fifteen bucks for the service of locating their bug for them. Seems non-nefarious to me. And you don't seem like you were gonna fight it anyways, so non-nefariousness on your end too. Seems like a mostly positive interaction all around, outside the inevitable disappointment of not getting dozens of books for basically free. And nobody can blame ye for that, heh.
I was thinking about sending an email, and hoping for a reward for my honesty, but they beat me to it...

That's fair.
Out of interest, how much did they mistakenly sell it for?

According to the email, $8.99. That was some glitch!

would have been a sweet deal
As a former business owner my statement is that they are in the right.
Now if they had sent out a print add, tv commercial, etc sponsored advertisement then there may be an case.
But chances are the lawyer retainer fee would be higher than the cost of the legendary bundle.

Please do not contact or message me.
30 days...if they have a sale in the next 30 days...buy a book with the coupon and then that book counts towards the price of the bundles you want.
will end up being a really good deal then. still, understandable mistake and a pretty good offer to make up for it.
It should be noted that credit towards bundles is based on amount paid for the book, not the current price of the book
