So I was looking though some spells to make a costume domain and I noticed some spells like Water Walk and Tiny Hut have a small book with an R in it next to it. What does that stand for? At first I thought it meant that those aren't in the players handbook, but Water Walk is in there while Tiny Hut isn't.
It's a bit odd considering most of us know the spells as Leomund's Tiny Hut or Melf's Acid Arrow as examples, but it seems the SRD versions, which the current listings are taken from, miss out the name portion. So they are simply known as Tiny Hut and Acid Arrow here.

The SRD is OGL compatible. So when other publishers use it, the Wizard names (Leomund, Melf etc) are filed off, since those guys won't exist in whatever paradigm the other publishers are creating.

I feel like I would prefer consistancy and they shouldn't be named in the PHB either.
That would go against years (and years, and years) of D&D tradition.
While true, if it's only going to be used the PHB and every other mention on the planet uses the abbreviated name, then it really just becomes more confusing at that point and in all effect has already lost the name.

Once you have the PHB connected in here, the name will revert to match.

The 'R' stands for Ritual!

Thanks, I should have realized that. Though I am still not sure in what book Tiny Hut is at it isn't in elemental evil either
PHB, top left of page 255.
It's called Leomund's Tiny Hut there, whilst here it's simply 'Tiny Hut'.

Thanks a lot! No wonder I couldn't find it under T :)
