I just purchased 7 custom miniatures from HeroForge, one for each of my players (I'm really enjoying the game and am rewarding my players by getting them a custom design of their character that they designed themselves). I'm really hoping they turn out well. I should have them in about three weeks.
Has anyone else used HeroForge? My wife is going nuts just creating random characters on site... seriously, she's got like 10 custom figures designed.

I love HeroForge. I haven't tried out their new cheap plastic yet, but I can definitely vouch for the premium gray plastic and the steel (although there is some detail loss).
The only downside is it stings extra hard if that character dies lol.
I have a couple of minis from them for my characters, both in premium plastic. The premium plastic is great, I can't afford the bronze and the steel and basic plastic looked too rough for painting from the website images. Although it looks like they recently upgraded their basic plastic to improve paintability.
I think the only real downside is that because they are 3d printed as a single piece there can be areas of the model that are difficult to paint (e.g. 2 handed poses blocking access to the chest). With a model in component form you can usually keep pieces separate until after painting, with HeroForge you either have to choose options to avoid this or just do your best.
I went the $19.99 route with their new plastic material. I'd read reviews where their premium plastic was rather weak and minis would break in shipping, so I opted for the stronger material.

I've been interested for a while in HeroForge's custom models, though I have yet to make the commitment. Good to hear there's positive responses to their stuff.
I had purchased minis in premium plastic from HeroForge some years ago, and I was extremely satisfied with the final product.
Details were awesome and the customisation options were just a godsend. The only downside is that yes, the premium plastic is kinda weak, and two of the minis now have their weapons broken :-/
Overall, though, I'd buy again from them if/when the need arise.
