I'm really disappointed that this company, who makes money hand over fist has yet to come out with a discount for military/first responders or even one for the general public as most of us are still on lockdown. Guess I'll keep waiting. You know what they say...want in one hand.....in the other

Unless you have access to Beyond's financial statements and/or have extensive financial knowledge about the industry, making assumptions about a company's finances is about as ridiculous as an untrained high school student trying to diagnose a sick patient or offering legal advice to a client. As a bookkeeper/accountant, I still would not make claims about a company's profitability without looking at their financial statements first, even if I have extensive knowledge about an industry, since companies can operate very differently within the same industry.
Beyond is also offering quite a few adventures for free. If you pay attention to the menu bar at the top, at the very right, you can see and click on <Quarantine Resources> and that page will show all the adventures that are available for a limited time for free. You can save the webpages for your own private use later if you do not think you can go through all the adventures in time.
Discount codes will come, but considering that plenty of businesses are at risk of going under due to COVID-19, if you can spare money for non essential products like D&D games, I think it would be nice to purchase one or more of the lower priced products on Beyond's <Marketplace> in the menu bar at the top at full price, showing support to a company who are offering products completely free for a limited time. Sapphire Dragon costs $1.99, One Grung Above costs $4.99, Locathah Rising costs $9.99, and purchasing any of those products will also help charitable causes. Beyond's employees are also human beings just like you who need to eat and sleep and have their own bills to pay. If you have the financial means, I strongly recommend supporting small local businesses near you and companies in general who make your favorite products to keep people employed and the economy going.
If you are facing financial difficulties but still want to be entertained when stuck at home, D&D can be played completely free using this website with the free content that is available. You do not need all the bells and whistles of the official subclasses and adventures, and you can just homebrew your own stuff and make up your own story. There is no need to spend a single dime in this hobby, and that is totally okay.
You don't have to. You can manually subscribe through the 'Tools' button at the top of the page, to the right of the headline.

just saying I've served for 32 years in the military and a volunteer firefighter I have never complained about not getting a discount. I didn't join for discounts I volunteered to serve my community and country, I don't understand this entitlement that some have that they should get a discount everywhere they go. If you joined for discounts you joined for the wrong reasons.
Offering a code allows them to temporarily reduce the price while at the same time making people feel like they are getting a bargain.
Personally I think they missed a trick not giving a discount at the start of the various lock-downs, I suspect they would have cleaned up.
We are getting adventures completely free for a limited time, and DMs have Content Sharing function expanded from 3 to 5 campaigns for a limited time. That is better than any coupon code in my opinion. Keep in mind that there is nothing stopping you from saving those webpages for your own private use forever; and for Master Tier DMs, as long as you do not disable Content Sharing on one of the campaigns, you can keep Content Sharing enabled on all 5 campaigns forever.
At this point, the second a coupon comes out, like 40 people would rush to get books. Honestly they would gain more money if they made a small coupon, with all the people waiting for one...
I'm actively looking to buy the Legendary Pack, but I will not be buying until there is another coupon code. I understand the great value this pack offers to most customers even when off of discount, but as an avid DM who has bought many of these books physically or on roll20 the default Legendary Bundle deal just doesn't offer enough value for me to justify the cost off-discount, especially since my finances are pretty tight lately.
I do dig the tools and site though, and I'd love to pick up that Legendary Bundle for the convenience of your tool integration, your impressive search features, & some new books for me. Waiting eagerly for a code and then I'll merrily throw my money your way. :)

Unfortunately this has a lot less value to someone that runs in their own settings (that'd be me!). It is pretty nifty if you're looking to run pre-made campaigns though! And yes, I know, "Why get Legendary then?" I'm a bit of a collector, there ARE a few more generic things in most of the books, and there's a chance I might get lazy and run a pre-fab someday. Fairly low chance, but it's there.
On a loosely related note (not directed at Gamma, because your post is constructive and could convince fence-sitters to buy at full value, which is good for Beyond!), this whole "Oh you entitled people!" ruckus going on in parts of this thread deeply unnerves me. For those who feel this way, you do realize that thrifty people or people short on cash are going to wait for a sale regardless, right? And that by communicating openly about that, the owners get more feedback for the data they no doubt collect from many sources on when to orchestrate such sales to ultimately maximize their profits? Some of you are getting moody about something that actually helps D&D Beyond. I know many of you mean well and are just defending a company and service you love, though, but please consider my point here.

This is one of the few instances of entitlement reference in this thread I actually agree with.

I guess it depends on the perspective of which customer you are.
Free adventures might not have much value for people who can pay but does not have everything yet, but it is definitely a lot more valuable than a discount code for people who are not in a position to spend or just want to go completely free. The way I see it, the free quarantine resources are basically 100% discount codes on certain items, instead of the usual 20-25% discount codes that can be used on any item of the person's choosing.
And for Master Tier DMs, expanding Content Sharing to 5 campaigns is huge, since that is not something that can be done with normal discount codes. As a subscriber who already got the Legendary Bundle, I much rather have Content Sharing expansion than a discount code.

Sure, and for some people that will be an awesome option, but for others it is pretty much irrelevant. I'm not disputing what has been done - just in my opinion, and it is just an opinion, others will disagree, D&D Beyond could have benefitted themselves and the community hugely with an early discount on various bundles. I say this as someone who has the hardcovers, and so doesn't need the digital versions, however a sensible discount while we're all stuck at home and playing remotely would probably tempt me - the result is income that D&D Beyond otherwise would not get.
They have already had sales while the lock down has been in place, it's just that there are no sales right now. You can't expect them to have sales all the time.

I’m hoping for another discount in the sourcebooks. hope maybe for the summer they give other codes again.

Beyond has already stated that they announce all new coupon codes on their front page. Check the last post by a moderator, about one page back.
