Okay so I'm very new to DnD and I have a question and Google isn't helping
What is the spellcasting modifier? Like what do you use for it? My spellcasting ability is Wis, so would I use my Wis modifier, Wis saving throw? Or what? This might be explained in the character creation thing and I'm just blind but *shrugs*
Okay wait I was blind it says the number. But for the future I'm just gonna ask one more question: So the spellcasting modifier was +5, which is the same as my Wis modifier, so it would just be [insert whatever you're using for spellcasting ability]'s modifier? I guess that's kinda obvious (They both have "modifier" in the name) but just want to make sure :)
This might not be the right place to put questions but idk where else so yeah
Edit: Oh yeah also do u guys know how to change your username or whatever it is above your avatar/profile pic? Cause I don't really want my username to be my name, but I can't figure out how to change it...

You can get your named changed in this thread. Ask for the namechange credit and then there's steps you can follow.
Seems you've got your understanding the spellcasting modifiers sorted out since what you're saying sounds right.

Greetings Iillianmpence,
Yes, your Spellcasting Modifier is just your bonus for whatever the caster's Ability is. So, like the character you are refencing you would look at your Wisdom Bonus and that is what your Modifier will be.
Now taking that into account, your Spell Attack and Spell Save both use this and other data per the PHB:
Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.
