I'm not on the production side of things at all, but based on what I know I'd compare it to Dimension 20 over Critical Role.
There are a definite number of episodes to this game, and a full story that needs to be told, so while it's on rails a bit in order to hit those key story beats and tell the story within the specified time frame, what happens in between all that is up in the air.
Stuff like the table reactions to all the secrets in episode 3, for example, were all genuine.

The Tarokka cards have been drawn, secrets have come to light, but more importantly, the party has their mission. Will they succeed in finding the person that can help them with the next step of their journey? Who do you think it is?
Man this is just making me miss "Dice Camera Action" and "Acquisitions inc" really hard again.

He/Him. Loooooooooong time Player. The Dark days of the THAC0 system are behind us.
"Hope is a fire that burns in us all If only an ember, awaiting your call To rise up in triumph should we all unite The spark for change is yours to ignite." Kalandra - The State of the World
I feel like the party of players shouldn't be openly playing against each other. This is something I would expect from a vampire the masquerade not a DND group. I prefer stronger group cohesion, this group has a lot of internal drama that I feel could be better used focusing outward instead of inward.

Could you explain to me the difference, in your opinion?
Genuine question, not trying to provoke or anything. I'm just curious about your point of view on that matter.
