I am attempting to create a subclass that one of the features can be used "X" times before a long rest. Much like the Barbarians rage, druids wild shape, or sorcery points. However, I am unable to find which option allows me to place charges as you do on a magical item. Is there way to add a limited feature into a homebrew subclass or is the option not available
You create an "Action", and from within the action set it to restore on a long rest. Once you save the full action, you can reopen it and then be able to add Limited Use data, which lets you set how many times it can be used.
This is helpful, do you know if there is a way to give a subclass feature a number of charges equal to your level in that class?
They are not “charges” they are “number of uses.” It is possible. When you create an action for the subclass feature, and then you set the “reset type” then you can go in and add “limited uses” and you will have to add 20 of them, one per level.
Hey IamSposta, I found your post very useful! I have a question though. I have a subclass I'm making that revolves around the use of hit-die to do things. You can also use the hit die you gain from other classes when multiclassing. Is there a way to make the "number of uses" scale with player level rather than class level?

Glad I could help.
No, everything granted by a subclass has always scaled based on class level or one of the Ability modifiers until Tasha’s came out. Now, you can also have it scale based on Proficiency bonus, but that’s the only other option.
