When I look at my homebrew, it shows me how many views my current version has, how many views my old versions had, and how many adds my old versions had. How do I see how many adds my current version has?
It shows on your created content page. It shows in your collection page. If published it shows on the relevant homebrew list page.
The numbers are right next to each other. If you see one, you can see the other.

Upload the image to an image hosting service. Personally I use www.imgur.com.
Get the direct url for the image. Most image hosting services have an option to quickly copy the direct link.
On the D&D Beyond forum post have the cursor in the place you want to the image to be and in the toolbar at the top of the post click the icon that looks like a picture, it's 4th from the right:
You will be shown a popup where you can paste the full link of the image. Click OK and it is inserted into the post.

Oh, maybe it only shows on PC. I use D&D Beyond on the phone. (Its a pain to make content on the phone, but I am on the road a whole lot so I don't get the chance to use a PC)

The plus sign just opens and closes the item, it doesn't have a number next to it
I was referring to the + icon that is next to the eye icon. It's in the column conveniently labelled ADDS in capital letters.
