I have always wanted to play D&D but no one around me is interested. I was hoping that this community will allow me to find a group and help get started.

There are always people in the community looking for people if you looking for people to meet up with it might be helpful to say where you are from so people who are near by can say they are, I'm from Sydney, Australia myself. It would also be useful to check out the Looking of Player Group forum 

Or if you are looking to play online check out the Play-by-Post forum there are new games poping up all the time people are always happy to help people get started. I'm in a few myself and they are a lot of fun.
