So, say someone in my campaign has content sharing on, and all of their content is enabled.
It does allow me to see the content I couldn't before, but does it let me make characters with the options I didn't have before? I don't have any content bought on DND Beyond, so it would be nice if I could, but currently I can't find any option to enable this or anything like that.
Any advice would help.

Yes it does, you should be able to create a character for that campaign with the shared content. You may need to close out of DNDB and re-open it. I've had trouble with being online while content was shared and not seeing it until I left and came back.
Some of the content that they're sharing includes the artificer. I can't make any artificer characters.
I've closed in and out of DnD Beyond many dozens of times in the past few days, and haven't been able to make any characters with the content they're sharing.

Hmm. Not sure then. I don't own content for making an artificer but tried creating an unassigned character in a campaign that has an artificer in it and it worked. I'm the DM in that campaign but that shouldn't make a difference. Yeah, that's weird man!

Content that is shared with you can only be used to create characters that are within the campaign that has the sharing enabled.
