So starting from scratch (owning nothing as of this morning), they want $414.78 right now for the Legendary Bundle. If you separately add everything to your cart and then add a 25% off code, it goes down to $311.08.
The bundle normally costs $454.15, so with a 25% discount, it should cost $340.61. Add today's 8% discount to that, and you get $313.36. So today's deal, when buying everything separately, is actually $29.53 less expensive than the bundle with just a 25% discount, and $2.28 less expensive than the discounted bundle would cost even with today's discount.
Note, however, that the bundle says it comes with "28" sources, but there are only "22" sources that you can manually add to your cart, so maybe I'm missing something in terms of what content is available without buying the bundle?
Also, note that if you buy it all separately, you don't get the ongoing 15% discount that you normally get when buying the bundle. So you have to hope that you can get at least 15% off new books from another source.
This is all a long-winded way of saying that I don't understand why they would offer/allow this...why not just price the bundle better today?
If you count the number of books, the legendary bundle shows 22 books and manually adding all books individually, results in 22 books as well. I think the 28 sources is for things such as - PHB gives you magic items + races + class (that would be 3 sources there), and so on..
My big question is:
Is there an ACTIVE discount code (20-25%) for the Legendary bundle?

Sadly, no. See my above post for the breakdown as of today.
Partially because the legendary bundle ensures 15% off all future released products. Still wish it was just 25% off total.
Right, but as of today, you save almost $30 if you're starting from scratch. How long would it take to spend an extra $30 assuming only 15% off each new book? Let's assume they all come out at $29.99. 15% off is a savings of $4.49. So you'd have to buy at least 7 new books at retail price ($29.99) to end up worse off than just buying everything today without the bundle. And we all know there always seems to be a 25% code out there somewhere...
Edit: Also, note that you can always buy the Legendary Bundle later and it will subtract the cost of all books you've purchased, so you can basically "buy" the 15% discount later if you need/want it whenever a new book is released, but note that there's a pretty hefty built in charge for...something? Even if you own all content, they still charge a LOT for the bundle. For me, as of today, it's $98.70 despite already owning all content.
Since the legendary bundle is all the content you don't have, and is discounted based on what you currently own... couldn't you buy all but one book with the current promotion. Then sepaeately purchase the Legendary bundle to get the final book and the future 15% discount?

Clunky and unnecessary, but logically it works.
Sadly, no. For some reason, even though I have an account with every source already purchased, they want $98.70 as of today to sell me the bundle...a bundle of nothing? Basically charging me $100 for an ongoing discount. See my above posts for pricing and how many books you'd have to buy going forward to catch up to the discount giving today's pricing, which is actually very good if you purchase everything separately.
not sure if this is still the case, but suspect the sale is on the marketplace prices on this site only, and not on the iOS store or google play.
Makes sense, Apple probably gets a cut of it due to being able to pay with App Store credits. Was just trying to stack the huge discount with the 20% app store cards I picked up on BF. I'll just save them for PoGo now xD
This sale is pretty amazing! Got all 8 books I currently own IRL for under $120. Amazing!
Someone has their calculations wrong. That's 4.82% discount, NOT 13% how it claims to be. Actually, that's 0% discount since I own Waterdeep: Dragon Heists (valued at $19.99). $414.79-394.79 = $19.99 (Discounted for previously purchased content). False advertising?
While I also am saddened that they didn't go the route of straight discounting the Legendary bundle, this might actually be better. I ran the numbers based off my personal marketplace (corrected for $6 of prior purchases out of the PHB), but these things should hold true for almost everyone.
Legendary with an applicable coupon code is a 25% discount
Legendary is currently at a discount of 22.4% due to the BF sale
Applying a 25% discount code while only buying the books discounted by the CM sale (27.3% averaged) gives you a total discount of 45.5%
Books you'll miss if you do this:
Hoard of the Dragon Queen
Lost Laboratory of Kwalish
Lost Mine of Phandelver
Rise of Tiamat
The Tortle Package
Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron
This brings the new cost of the Legendary Bundle to $168.41 (USD)
$94.94 of this is the remaining books
$73.47 is the cost of the 15% discount
The 20.5% difference between the current sale and 25% off a "clean" Legendary is worth $109.63, meaning a savings of $36.16
So I have to say that I'm actually really impressed. If you math the savings out right, you can get a better deal than we were all hoping for while still being excited at the prospect of a 25% Legendary Coupon down the line.
Hardly? First of all, it says right under the price "Discounted for previously purchased content". Second, that $414.78 base price is reached by adding up all the discounted prices, not base prices.
I'd argue that it's actually okay, but not great deal. Yes, you will save $28.90 if my calculations are correct by buying all the books now at the discount, but...
That will result in a Legendary Bundle that has ZERO content but costs $101.19 - THIS ACTUALLY JUST HAPPENED TO ME. They literally want you to pay $101.19 for a 15% discount on STANDARD PRICING of FUTURE PURCHASES. That means you need to buy additional books for over $614 JUST TO MAKE EVEN.
It just means that I will never buy Legendary Bundle. Not that I need it now that I have all the books. And, yes, I will miss 15% off from all my future purchases, because no, I'm not going to pay over $100 for nothing.
By passing on the deal today, and waiting for a 25% off Legendary Bundle in future, you will save in the long run if you continue buying the books (which I expect you will, if you are buying Legendary Bundle and not select books).
Bottom line: I'd personally pass on this deal unless they fix their Legendary Bundle pricing, asking $100 for nothing.
I already had the Legendary bundle and the book prices showed as $16.99, i was able to complete my collection of the two waterdeep books, the ravnica, the ebberon and the mini module. after the code used my total was $57 and change. i am happy with this.

I just want to tell everyone "happy gaming" and actually mean it. Whatever your game is, just have fun with it, it is after all, just a game.
Not sure why its bugging out for some people, but I just purchased Curse of Strahd with fall25 stacking with $19.99 to make it $14.99, then purchased the Legendary bundle which was down to 59.99 and had 4 books plus the tortle package and Kwalish. This bundle was almost 100 bucks yesterday and I got it for about 65 today. I would give purchases a few minutes to cache and refresh the page to see the discount applied.

Anyone know why the sale isn't showing up in the App?
Sadly, no. See my above post for the breakdown as of today.

When i questioned the app prices back in march when the app was launched I was told "the app prices are set and inflexible"

Hi
I think that the 28 sources means 21 books + Tales from the Yawning Portal (Included in this pack: 7 Sources). :D
