On the character builder, theres an optionial features section. There are 2 options, optional class features and customize your origin.
What do they both do?
i like homebrew
Customize your origin allows you customize your race example being a 2 Int 1 STR Elf who doesn't speak Elvish but only Common and Dwarvish.
Optional Class features allows for example to expand your class spell list, getting extra proficicy (Barbarian) etc.
Note: What Optional Class Feature does depends on your class.
Notes here otptions are from Tasha’s, so Tasha’s must be purchased (or shared via content sharing) to access them. You can also homebrew optional features now, but they are subclass specific because there is no homebrew class builder.
