I would like to browse some publicly viewable campaigns. Is there a way to view these or are all campaigns by invite only?
Really, I'd just like to see what is possible with the Campain tools. I've made my own, but I think I lack the imagination to use the tools as presented. Is there maybe a tutorial on how to build a good looking campaign page?
Do you use OneNote at all? I found a great template that I use to manage my campaign formatting. It's an almost direct copy of the official campaign layout. If you you want it, I can dig it up after work and send it to you.
But I was talking about the Homebrew Campaigns here on DDB. I made my own, added a map, wrote some text, but it seems like that is all there is.
Is there any way to browse other peoples Homebrew entries or is that an Invite-only prospect here? I just want to get a sense of how others are using their Homebrew Campaign space.

Very cool. You've replicated a lot of what's in Beyond now, but I see lots of things that would be great to work into the campaign management eventually. I'm not a OneNote user but have heard good things about using it for D&D.
Yeah. I switched to OneNote when I found this template, and it's been working great. The ability to hot link things like NPCs and locations is awesome.
Ok, Folks, I'm bumping this thread because I still haven't really gotten an answer to the initial question. Let me try to rephrase:
This site provides a way to start your own campaign. It lets you invite other players to join that campaign.
IS THAT the ONLY way to see a campaign?
I would think that Campaigns that were recruiting new players could be viewed publicly, in some sort of index or directory. Is this not something that is needed? How else do new DM's or people looking for ideas on setting up gain inspiration for their Campaign area on this site? A blank page and a text editor with no manual seems like its both a powerful and guideless way of using this site feature.
Currently, recruitment happens in either the Play by Post forum or in the Looking for Players and Groups forum, depending on the type of game. (Other groups are face to face and use DDB together, I doubt those use the forums here for recruitment) I think a directory is an interesting idea, although I'm not quite sure how it would work.
yes, why is the only way to see a campaign after joining seems to make more sense to check out a campaign first then if you like it to make a character.
I can see that coming along later. I hope we have a lot more tools before we start having shared campaigns that others can see... though, I admit, I'm curious how others are doing very much with such limited space. If the Campaign section becomes what the Character Creation section is, then I would be a happy camper and De-Ascend from my Black-Gateway campaigns... as it is, I am primarily doing characters... but remain very very hopeful!
Right now, there's not much to see on the campaign page, so I'm not sure how that's a better place to "see"/learn about a campaign than through a forum post.

Any pointers or examples are appreciated.

Edit: Found the page I found it on. http://www.cryrid.com/dnd/?page_id=153
If you scroll down you'll eventually see the campaign section.
I checked this out and it's pretty cool.

Not yet, and, for the moment, what you see is what you get. Much more is planned.

Ah sorry, I misread your question!
Thanks for sharing this, it's a cool template. OneNote is amazing for managing campaigns, it's what I hope DDB may eventually be able to evolve into.
