In character creation, the very first option is "Standard", "Quick Build", or "Randomize". Choose randomize, input the level, then choose create character. You can also specify the race and class before randomizing.
Yo might want to switch the ability scores around, however, as those are randomized too and can result in characters having low stats which should be high.
Also note that the randomizer doesn't support the full gamut of content from all books. I forget if it's just the PHB or just the books that were out when they created the randomizer. But at any rate it's still got restrictions, but it is a good starting place for pre-gens.

Not sure about this, I just gave it a go and when I clicked random for species it came up with Zariel Tiefling from Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes, a book that is not only not 5.5, but isn't even available for purchase at this point. Maybe it's using any owned content?

The post you're replying to was from 2021. Back then the Randomise option was limited to basic rules stuff.
The feature has since been replaced and updated with a redesigned Quick Build option that allows you to build a character quickly and with random options, which now takes into account content that you own.

Is there any way to have Beyond Generate characters Randomly? I want to create a list of Pre-Gens for some oneshots.

I don't see that option on the generator list? Was it removed?
When you select the “Create a Character” option at the upper right corner of the “My Characters” screen, this is what comes next:

2026, it has been removed and you have to do it through quick build now, unfortunately.
