I have been playing with the same group since 1997. We used to meet every week, but as lives have gotten more complicated since college we have moved to every other week, but even then it may be 1-2months between sessions. Don't get me wrong I would not ever give up that group. I am just looking for other opportunities to possibly play more regularly or frequently even if it was a one shot or short run. I am in Farmington, MI.
I've never played but have been watching Critical Role and would like to try it out. I'm in West Bloomfield. I could be available one weeknight weekly if it's close to home.
My wife has put together a character driven blog from our Marches campaign. Here's the link.
If anyone is interested the DM's are currently in Troy (2) and Royal Oak. We are open to others (players/DMs) provided they are happy within our code of conduct:
Everyone is there for shared fun and should focus on contributing to the group efforts.
Everyone has agency over their characters and should be respected when it's their turn to act.
Everyone comes focused to play the game. Any distractions that are necessary (take a call, etc.) are done away from the table as a courtesy to others.
Everyone helps build a safe place to game. We don't do/say things to target people or make them uncomfortable.
Kinda formal, but it helps everyone focus on the good things and being together. My signature has a link to my erratically updated DM blog if you want to see that side of it (including a link to our players guide).
Things are going well so we don't need new players to make it work - but I really like games that welcome others in and are (very) open to new players with little/no experience.
I am quite interested in that DetroitMarches.com campaign that elektravrago posted, but I am also pleasantly surprised to see a thread for Metro Detroit players on here. I have been considering putting the call out to find a group, but being socially anxious with limited D&D experience (all PbP these days), I approach with hesitation. My fear is being a noob-burden on any group that takes me in, as I know I have a lot to learn still, despite having a few games under my belt.
I am out in the Utica/Shelby area, and can be available once a month on weekends if a group wants to take me in with my limited schedule. As much as I would love to dive head first into more live games, I do work heavy hours Mon - Fri, which means I need to keep some family time on the weekends, as well, which I am sure everyone understands. If you have any questions for me in determining if I might be a good fit for your group or campaign, please do not hesitate to PM me.
Thanks! And meanwhile, I will be checking out that link...
to anyone in the downriver area at pandemonium game store in garden city there is adventure league on Wednesday at 6-9 pm and on Saturdays from 2-6 pm.
Hi all, I'm a moderately experienced 5e player (weekly-ish games over Discord with friends for the last 2 years) and beginner-intermediate DM, currently living on the east edge of Detroit but looking to move closer to Troy soon (where my day job is located).
I really love DMing but I'd love to find a group to join as a player as well, I feel like it'd be a nice change of pace from the amount of work I put into running a game. I'm open to local in-person or voice chat groups, even open to trying my hand at play-by-post.
I'm very new to this method of finding people to play with, so any recommendations/tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ~
D&D 5e table looking for up to 4 more players in the greater Detroit-area (address is in Harper Woods).
Our goal is to run bi-monthly (Wednesdays and/or Sundays) beginning at 7 pm and running until 10 pm.
This will be a beginner friendly table. Gaming will be storytelling-centric using existing adventure modules (with some twists!). Feel free to bring your own 1st level characters, but pre-gens will be available. Please be a respectful and reliable player.
Female DM. Women and LGBTQ+ encouraged to join!
Vegetarian friendly snacks and drinks will be provided. Feel free to bring your own or more to share.
This is a non-smoking household with cats.
Gaming will take place downstairs and unfortunately our household is not handicap accessible.
I'm in the Southfield area but more than willing to commute for a good game. I'm looking for a weekly or biweekly face-to-face game that is women and lgbtq+ friendly. If you have an open seat at your table or are interested in starting up a new campaign, by all means, please message me.
Oh wow, pretty excited to see so many people playing D&D in my area haha
I live in Newport but if anyone needs a player I'm more than happy to drive to a game during the week. The only iffy days for me are Saturdays. But that's just because I Larp once a month.
I'm currently playing in a ToA game with my Conjuration Wizard Seltae on Thursdays. (Last session we made the King of Feathers Fly. It was a great time.)
On random Tuesdays I DM a game over Discord. It's my first campaign and the story is of my own creation so it's really nerve wracking, though I'm getting a lot of good feedback from my players.
Hey this is great. I just discovered this thread... I'm located about 20 mins south of Detroit (94 & Telegraph). I have been DMing for about 10 years and I'm open to having more folks join up. We are about to start running a new campaign where we will be effectively trading off who is the DM for each of the dungeons found in the "tales of the yawning portal". I am also running a curse of Strahd campaign with the same group. But frankly I needed a little break from being the DM. We'd be open to meeting a new player or two.. We typically play Friday Saturday or Sunday when possible.
The next game we're playing will be December 3rd and will be partially face to face with at least one attendee (me) participating via discord voice. We usually do all face-to-face but I'll be traveling for work, so this might be a good opportunity for a new player to feel us out via discord before meeting us to play...
Just reviving this post a little after someone reached out via PM looking for interest in gathering a face-to-face group. I've got myself and a friend with a bit of difficult work schedules but enough enthusiasm to find an opening somewhere for a regular game. Was there anyone in the Macomb County area looking to get together, and does anyone within said area know a good place to meet up (cafe, hobby shop, etc.)?
