D&D Beyond will undergo a planned maintenance period on Tuesday, August 27th at 5:00 am PT that is expected to last until 9:00am PT. (What time is that for me?)
During this time, the entire site, including the forums and marketplace, will be unavailable. For updates on this maintenance, visit @Wizards_Help.
We thank you in advance for your patience as we work to improve the D&D Beyond site experience for you.

Will we have a new changelog before the maintenance? Letting it clear how it's going to happen, and what will be changed before implementing the updates, like last time?
The site maintenance has been delayed because of the mostly unreasonable outcry that forced Beyond to greatly increase their workload for a loud minority of players. The site will be worse for the new players because of it, but at least there is nothing to rage about any more. That is, until the next mostly PR fumble and loud minority rage and ruin.

Wow, I couldn't disagree more! The impact should not be much more than the EXISTING Legacy support they have today. I've worked in IT as developer and system admin for almost 40 years now and maintenance delays are commonplace. Unlike you, it seems that DDB believed that the loud minority rage had a point.

Yeah, the minority called "People who paid this company actual money for the last 10 years".
Sorry that this minority caused such a loud noise that you will have to wait a few more hours before checking the new book here and lose absolute nothing after that 😢. (Assuming you bought the new books, and is not part of the crowd that was just waiting to be served free content at the cost of the people who bought content from 2014 being robbed of the things they bought for using in DnD Beyond Toolset)
Can't imagine the pain that you're feeling, but hope it goes away shortly. Get better soon, dear!
I'm not worried about it, I'm surprised that folks are so upset that all the old spells were basically get the errata treatment. But the campaign I myself run will be based on the newvrules with anything in it will not be legacy if it's updated we will use the newer versions like I have a bladsinger in the group and will still be one, same with the twilight Cleric but the Psi Warrior is getting updated and so on

If you read what they tried as errata then I can see your point, but to many of us it was not errata due to wizbro's repeated and adamant statements it was not errata nor is this a new edition.

Has anyone stated if we will gain access to the new rulebook before the site goes down? Since preordering I was curious if it will be available to download before the site goes down. Do we know what time the book will release vs when the site is down for maintenance?
[EDIT]
I found my answer under the licenses section, it states:

Yeah, they were giving the "errata" treatment to content we were promised we would continue to have access to. When companies start to break promises like that, people tend to stop trusting them, and Hasbro/Wizards don't have the best reputation recently. Personally, I doubt I'll use any of the legacy content going forward, but removing that choice when we were specifically told that wouldn't happen? Yeah that's a bad look

Early access: 03 September 2024 12:15 UTC
So early access would be at the end of the maintenance, as 12:15 UTC is 5:15 PDT, or 15 minutes after the start of the maintenance.
Preloading would be great on mobile app, but it seems we won’t have it on time. I’ll have to find another way for my session tonight…
I have access to the new rulebook, but going into the character creator I only seem to be able to make Clerics, Fighters, Rogues, and Wizards with the new ruleset. Is there a planned date to have the other 8 classes available for character creation?
For those that only have access to the 4 classes from the 2024 free rules and bought the full 2024 PHB: as stupid as it sounds, try logging out and logging back in. That did the trick for me.

Get off my lawn or roll for initiative!
Will we have a new changelog before the maintenance? Letting it clear how it's going to happen, and what will be changed before implementing the updates, like last time?
So the morning we get access to the new players handbook the site is down. Poor timing

Maintenance is over still don’t see the book
Go into sources, view all. It's accessible there.
Though I haven't seen a toggle to use the new material to create a character yet but I suspect given everything that is just a matter of time.
I have access to the new rulebook, but going into the character creator I only seem to be able to make Clerics, Fighters, Rogues, and Wizards with the new ruleset. Is there a planned date to have the other 8 classes available for character creation?
You know...it would be GREAT if MORE THAN 4 CLASSES from the book we have ALREADY PAID FOR were available!

Thank you! That fixed it for me
