Tales From the Yawning Portal is next in our series of Style and Function updates. This book incorporates many adventures which are known and loved throughout the community both new and old. From Classic Introduction adventures like The Sunless Citadelto probably the most infamous dungeon in existence, TheTomb of Horrors.
Over the 3+ years that D&D Beyond has been live, we've grown in size, experience and skills. Hopefully there's no room for doubt that the more recent sourcebooks we've released not only look nicer, but are more functional too.
As a side project, the D&D Beyond Game Content Team is working to update some of the older adventures on D&D Beyond, bringing them up-to-date with our current process & standards.
You'll notice:
Page theming, colors & style that more closely match the published source. Better image placement & formatting across all screen sizes, from widescreen monitor to pocket smartphone.
Hundreds more hyperlinks to improve navigation around the adventures. All of the random encounters (see below) are linked up now.
More tooltips, to ensure you have the statistics for monsters, magic items, spells, equipment and more right where you need them.
Interactive styling (hover states on tables).
Side Navigation Improvements
Particular Focus was made on the side navigation for several of these adventures. Against the Giants and Dead in Thay are such massive adventures that the side navigation being in its best state will hopefully aid the brave Dungeon Masters which tackle them!
We hope you enjoy these adventures as much as we do!
Thank you for doing these Quality of Life improvements across the site in general.
I often struggle with poorly formatted stuff [I am autistic and deeply struggle with reading in particular] and formatting stuff this way definitely improves my user experience.
Thank you!!

Will these quality of life features be moved over to the mobile app as well? I really appreciate the effort going through all hyper links e t c. But why - when you did this - did you not allow us to view the 1-pager art that accompanies each adventures as an image? You still only have the cover art of the book as a screen. The other images are half cropped as the background in the menu. Sorry but I though for sure that this was gonna be updated and I got disappointed when it wasn't.
In middle of running Dead in Thay right now! Thank you!! This has been the single reason why I haven't used dndb in middle of running. Can you also add the [room] number to each side navigation too?

Very much appreciated! Someday I might muster up the courage to take on Dead in Thay :)

Running it now! It's a great smash and grab for flighty PCs.
Thanks again! Hope you get to Princes of the Apocalypse as well, eventually :)
