You climb and traverse the rocks down successfully. The waterfall eventually ends and the flow of the river slows as it mixes with a pool of viscous dark liquid. A strong odor of vinegar is apparent here and something begins to sting your eyes. Inside these ponds is a strange sponge-like material with a white color, the underside of which is brown and covered with a gooey, russet colored mass. It doesn't take a scientist to know that sponge-like blobs of material are symbiotic cultures of bacteria and yeast. They float on top of the bubbling red-brown liquid of the ponds. It is about 2500 feet on foot to leave this area. Until then, the dark liquid is literally everywhere you look.
As you cautiously progress down the slope an otherworldly sight greets you; a forest of fungi, mushrooms of all shapes, sizes and colors, stretch out below you for as far as the eye can see. The vast cavern is faintly illuminated by small floating spores which glow with an azure light. An earthy aroma greets you, carried upon the same air currents which push the glowing seeds aloft.
Ooops, that was supposed to by @ Advantage...here's the second roll: 25
That was a close one, but Daewen successfully navigated down the slick rocks of the waterfall. Upon reaching the bottom of the slope, the aroma continues to overwhelm her so she proceeds to quietly march along (Stealth: 20) whilst plugging her nose to block the stank.
Zhi watches with a smug sneer as, on more than one occasion, his magical insights tipped the scale from disaster as the party crosses the slippery rocks. With a resounding crash, Zhi lets the waterfall drop upon the party’s successful passage through.
The smile quickly fades into a snarl as his snout curls at the stench of the cavern. Around himself (and only around himself), Zhi causes a prestidigitation to make the air around him smell like the arid sands of the desert. Blissful and serene. Zhi continues onwards through the strange, mycelial forest, sending his Arcane Eye to outscout the scouts - to Area 4!
Mock moves as quickly as she dares, holding onto Kasha to make sure the druid doesn't fall, either. They'd just gotten her back, after all, and Mock's not liable to let her go anytime soon. But she scrambles down fairly easily and joins the others in looking around.
She gets a little closer to one of the ponds, crouching down to look at the strange liquid. "What is it with this place and weird water? Are all caves like this?"
"Stay focused everyone." Doc called out as if he were a father speaking to misbehaving children. "We're probably not alone in the forest so be ready for anything..." Then assuming he didn't see anything dangerous or noteworthy, Doc moved ahead towards area 4.
This is, hands down, the largest fungal forest you've ever seen. It's nearly a mile on foot to location 4. As you near the bulk of the enormous mushroom groves that dominate the cavern the smaller fungi that appeared in patches before become much more common, entirely filling the areas in between their larger kin. Trails of composted vegetable matter have been beaten down by both foot and claw, providing passage through the fungi forest for travelers that prefer not to cut a swath through the plant life. some of these pathfinder's remains can be seen off in the distance: tatters of clothing and pieces of bone precariously left sitting atop several mushrooms off the beaten path.
Strangely, you have encountered no signs of other life yet.
Arora looks around as they move through the fungal forest... this is a sight she has not seen before, at least not to this extent. A truly massive underground fungal forest.... but she's on high alert ass she sees the evidence of...something that roams these grounds. The tatters of clothes and pieces of bone strewn about, even sitting atop several large mushrooms. She cautiously moves along hiding in the shadows as she goes. As they approach area 4 she notices a path to the south, going straight and across the nasty brown river to the north. She stops "Which way Doc?"she asks "Personally, I'm thinking go across the river and to the North... seems like a road less traveled"

Raza looks around, amazed and disgusted. She shudders at the signs of previous visitors. She doesn't like to eat mushrooms let alone possibly get eaten by them. Her spirits had been surprising quiet as of late, maybe they didn't like this place either. Hopefully they would make it out of here quickly.
"I'm a little concerned about the remains found off the beaten path..." Doc replied as he took in the crazy sight in front of him. "That being said, tracking and moving through nature is not my forte. So if you think North is the way to go, we'll follow."
As they continue on their hike, Daewen pays special attention to the health and overall attitude of the rest of the team (Perception: 21), having a hunch that the airborne spores might be poisoning them in some way.
She'll casually march up next to Doc as they hike, and pantomime that she's worried about airborne illness affecting the team, and especially point to Kasha to have Doc investigate her hunch further.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Neph asks himself, "Am I being poisoned? Hmm, looks highly likely here..." He also checks for any movement, any little mushroom men pretending to be a mushroom, any mushroom ropers. He sends a message to Daewen, "Following you..."

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Noting Daewen's concern, as they walked, Doc looked back and took a long glance at Kasha to see if he noted anything odd or off. Knowing how Kasha got sometimes, he wouldn't worry her unless there was something to actually worry about.
Kasha appears to have some sort of mild skin rash, and her eyes are red. While nothing serious, it's more like a mild allergic reaction to the spores. As you examine her, she stares are you dumbly, not too much unlike Stimpy.
Three miles of walking towards AREA 12 brings you to a new landmark. Wide red plants of fantafungi stem are stacked high around a small compound, connected at the corners by living stems of the might plant. A dwelling made of the same materials sits at its center. Glancing through the misshapen fence, you can see several varieties of mushrooms being grown in rows throughout a well-tended garden, as well as ornamentations carved from boletann on the exterior of the two-story structure.
Strangely, there is no motion coming from the home, nor is anyone around.

Seeing the others manage to make their way down, Doc followed suit and managed to make his way down without too much issue.
