Little Iron started in Grid 8D. The rest of the party was in the marching order nearby when combat started.
OOC - You don't need to Roll Initiative, when it's the PC's turn (which it is now) you (the 4 PCs) can take your turns in any order during that time. This is to speed up combat for when people are available to post. I roll initiative for the separate groups and they act in that order. I know it's a little different than normal, but the forums said this how you make combat not take a month ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
OOC- So Little Iron you still have your whole turn. we are still waiting for Ash to resolve the webbing situation this round as well. Then it's Danica / Cadderly (The NPC group). Then it's Start of Round 2.
Little Iron, with your perceptive eyes you catch a gleam of silver from 15 feet up in the tree in Grid 9R It's hard to see the subject through the foliage, but as they reload their crossbow you can make out where their exact location is. A strong gust pushes a branch out of the way where the 2nd bandit sits perched on a long branch. You can see that tears run down his face drawing clear streaks down his dirty face as he levels his crossbow at Pox.
OOC I am assuming I am L.I in D8, I would run up to Danica and tries to determine if she needs healing. I don't see heal checks in 5e (remember I am only versed in 3.5 and Pathfinder)
Very creative method for mapping! I Suppose I would use my light crossbow if Danica did not need healing and an available target was in range.
Next question, how do we know when to use advantage or disadvantage?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC - Yeah You are L.I --- Little Iron didn't fit into the cell LOL. In regard to advantage, it's both. Sometimes you will know (class ability for example) sometimes I will say it (monster has a spell that grants it) . It applies to many different aspects in the game. We will just have to work together to determine when it should be used.
Little Iron runs up to Danica and can see she is clearly injured. A garish crossbow wound had pierced her leg. With a single look she is able to communicate she wishes you to not tend to her, but rather fight. You get the feeling if you went against her wishes you would regret it. You can't see the elderally woman through the webbing, but you are able shoot at the crossbow bandit in the tree in Grid 9R.
OOC - Due to the partial cover I am imposing a -2 on your attack roll. You can use the Dice Roller Tool in this chat (the little dice icon). Normally when posting an attack I would say it like this - the dice button inputs the formula.
OOC - We can use my example roll as your roll for this round. So when you attack in the future, you can just post your roll to hit and damage. Then I will resolve it - I will post if it missed or if it hit and account for the damage dealt. It is just faster to put things together in single posts. Sorry I know it's a lot, but once we get into the swing of it will all come together.
Little Iron shoots his crossbow off into the tree. The bolt finds purchase in the forearm of the Bandit who yelps. The elderly merchant woman cries out when hearing the shot hit. It sounds unusually youthful for someone of her apparent age.
Danica nods in approval at your hit. Get that Bastard out of the tree Little Iron. Then he is mine.
She motions to the crossbow wound on her leg - revenge burning in her eyes.
Ash ran forth towards the bandits, a hand axe swinging in each hand. The ferocity with which she moved was sudden, and very the opposite of her mostly quiet personage. However, in her zeal she missed the obvious, and found herself in a futile effort with the webbing.
Ash cursed loudly at being duped into the webs and struggled against them with a frenzied energy. While the occasional plume of smoke had escaped her nostrils in the library, that hardly prepared those assembled for what happened next. With a guttural roar that hailed back to her powerful ancestors, Ash's mouth spewed forth violent flames. The webbing sizzled and carried the fire, freeing Ash from its control. As she got her footing, smoke billowed around her eyes, and the stones of her crown sparkled in the mix of fire and burning web.
OOC: Action is Breath Weapon, aimed down. It's a 15 foot cone, so I might've also lit some trees on fire? :)
Ash's breath weapon eagerly consumes the webbing, loose strands fall from the air for a brief second before being engulfed in the roaring inferno. The flames are gone an instant later, leaving 6 Grid Squares (7+8, QRS) free of the web. The base of the trees at Grid 9 PQR are lit on fire and an earthy smoke fills the air, you hear cracks and pops as the soaked vegetation is assaulted by the flames.
Cadderly makes a strength check to break his rope snare spell restraining him.

Danica throws a throwing dagger into the tree at the bandit.

Cadderly, was not known for his strong physique, but seeing his love injured inspired him. He broke through the magical rope snair and fell to the muddy road with a flop.
Danica's aim was true and a jeweled dagger wizzed through the air in a blur, sticking itself in the bandit's shoulder.
OOC - You have done 10 HP points of damage to the bandit in the tree so far.
"I think now is the time for BattlePlan Toad, we need numbers"
The elderly woman nods and pulls out a toad from her robes, you assume it be her familiar. She uses her bonus action to cast a quick spell on it and moves to Grid 5T. The toad is on her shoulder and croaks loudly. Not just sound, but a breath weapon of lightning escapes the toads lips.
Pox and Merai must make DC 12Dex save for half damage.
Lightning Damage 9
She uses her action to cast a fire bolt on Merai
FireBolt To Hit (ranges spell attack) 18
Damage6
OOC - Ok now it's all the PCs turns again. Remember the 4 Player characters take your turn in any order.
Ash, now free of her bounds turns to face the bandit that had just slid his blade into her without permission. She took her two handaxe's and in a whirl attacked with a reckless energy, roaring again as she swung and struck.
Your axe finds purchase in the bandit's shoulder, slicing across the wound from Danica's dagger. You can tell he is injured, but still has plenty of fight left in him.

Merai save vs lighting bolt:
The lightning bolt slams into Merai dealing 4 damage, and she takes a hit from the firebolt for 6 as well. She is hurt but still fighting. She turns her attention to the frog- who she promptly incinerates.
Ash goes into a barbaric frenzy - all those attacks would have hit - however you have to pass through the web to get to the elderly merchant woman.
OOC- I rolled your Dex save Vs the Spell DC on your character sheet - it shows up in the log. You failed and are restrained.
As you frenzy through the webs the extra movement and energy you put forth into your charge gives the webs more to cling to.
You can use your Action this round (since you didn't actually attack) to break free or use fire to burn the webbing.
OOC - Also when you use the dice roller feature in the chat you can bake advantage into the roll.
OOC what squares did we start from?

OOC thanks for the tips. I take it my crossbow attack hits? I will await for the next steps.

OOC: 2 Weapon damage for the first hit. It didn't go through on the attack role. Sorry, still learning the bot.
I doubt 10 hits but just in case, 2 for the off hand.
So both would be 8 damage if they hit.

POx moves in with incredible speed with his rapier, taking advantage of the bandit’s distraction, and tries to hit the bandit. He misses probably.
