Stitch cautiously climbs down from his tree and moves over to Drego placing his hand as close to the wound as he can reach. “I am stitch?” He asks clearly wondering how his companion is doing.
Péiste Mór hovers power the battleground and surveys the wreckage. After a minute or so they quickly dart towards one of the piles of bones with a bit of a screech and snatches up a femur before raising up into the air with their prize! Péiste Mór then darts back to Jaxium's shoulder, tucks his femur deep into the elf's backpack, then launches out again to find another bone suitable for gnawing...
Back on their perch, their chew toy held carefully between their front limbs, Péiste Mór looks around at the others. "hmm mph, yes... a bit rough around the edges perhaps, but you all performed quite adequately. mmmm yes, you could form up into quite the formidable retinue given time..." Proper praise given, Péiste Mór returned to his gnawing on the bones of their enemies.

Case suddenly points at the goblin and says, "There is something wrong with that goblin. I have only heard it utter a single phrase repeatedly...and mostly at inappropriate conversational moments."
He lets his hand drop and looks around at the rest of the group. His face glances at Péiste Mór, "You also breathed fire quite well. Good job talking lizard."
He turns away, and continues down the road into town. Before too many steps though, Drego pipes up, and so Case turns back to the group to wait for any convseration to occur.
"Thanks Stitch, I'm fine, really. I promise.' His hand cups the goblin's face gently, tilting it up so he can make full eye contact as he speaks. A soft smile creeps over his face as the now familiar feeling of his companion's healing magic flows into him. He hadn't really been fine, that last skellie had hit him hard, crushing a rib and maybe knocking something loose inside. He could feel the bones reknitting as Stitch's hand touched him.
Turning back to the rest of the party he surveyed them all quickly, noting their wounds and positions after the brief encounter. Not bad. Not great - they were a bit clustered up, and could have moved quicker, but not bad at all.
'Ok. Everyone alright? Anyone injured? Anyone see what triggered these things?'
Even as he fired off the questions, he was sheathing his blade and reloading his crossbow, readying for the next threat.
"My question is why skeletons, and why here." Robin mentions as she frowns at the skeletons. "These didn't seem well-armed, or very well equipped, but why are they here, in the very place we were requested to come to." She moves over and nudges the bones around with a foot, trying to see if she can see anything out of the ordinary among the jumbled piles. "Undead are frequent sure, but it is not something I expect to come attacking me when simply traveling the road."
Throughout all of this conversation and denouement, Jax continues to stab shards of bone in the dirt, until his rage fades a few seconds later. He tries to catch his breath and his vision slowly clears.
Case stares down at Jax impassively. "Do you have a strong negatively charged emotional reaction to skeletons or bones for some reason? Perhaps related to a personal past regarding a mother or father?"

You actually think these undead were not spontaneously animated, but rather deliberately raised. Perhaps they were set to patrol the outside of town to keep people from getting in? After all 4 skeletons is more than enough to kill a few commoners.
Drego:
You do not see any other incoming threats, the last half-mile of the road to Teryk seems safe and clear.
Case suddenly points at the goblin and says, "There is something wrong with that goblin. I have only heard it utter a single phrase repeatedly...and mostly at inappropriate conversational moments."
Stitch clambers onto Drego’s back as Case points this out and positions himself so that Drego is between himself and Case.
Even as the gobbo clambers onto his back, Drego stays focused on finishing his scan of their surroundings. Once he feels confident that the skellies weren't simply a distraction for the real attack, he turns back to the party to address Case's comment about Stitch.
'That Goblin' has a name and there is nothing wrong with my friendStitch' the heavy and deliberate emphasis on friend and Stitch directed not just at Case but at the rest of the party. 'And the mere fact that you can't understand what he's saying doesn't make them 'inappropriate conversational moments''- whatever in the blazes that means - it just means you don't understand him.' A glance over his shoulder to the cowering creature and a small smile 'He communicates quite clearly to those who listen - we just had a full conversation in front of all of you - he asked me about my wound and whether it would bother me on the rest of our journey into town.'
Hand drifting to his holstered crossbow the ranger continues 'In any event, he's under my protection and if he's not welcomed here we'd be happy to make our way into town without the rest of you.'
Robin is preoccupied as she stands over the small piles of bones. After a while she picks a few up and holds them in her hand as she looks more closely at them. When she stands up a frown has turned down her lips.
"I cannot be sure of this, but these feel more like they were purposely summoned rather than spontaneous. “Robin says that she glances back to the others. “As if somebody doesn’t want anybody to reach this town. “
“Talking Lizard?” Péiste Mór sneers in response, lids half closed but still staring at the tin man. “Perhaps some kindly wizard will grant you a brain some day. Lizards are cold blooded…” The small dragon sighs loudly through their nostrils sending up twin plumes of dark smoke. “Péiste Mór is obviously not.”
The dragon then stops paying attention, closing their eyes and laying their head down on Jaxium’s shoulders. If any are paying attention they would notice the dragon whispering to his elven friend for a while, then eventually seem to very softly hum a tune to them… The words too soft for any but Jax to hear but the dragons mouth would move and eventually soft puffs of white smoke escape its snout in tune to an almost heard melody. Eventually Jaxium’s rage would end… and eventually too would Péiste Mór‘s song.
As Drego defends the goblin, the dragon’s eyes half open again and study the small creature. Péiste Mór had heard something about a goblin not too long ago… but then again, there are many goblins.
“Hmmm, we should not be hasty,” the dragon slowly proclaims, looking from Drego to Case and back again. “we would not want misunderstandings ruining things before they have even begun… I’m sure that one,” Péiste Mór jerks his head towards the Warforged “means nothing more than to point out what they feel is true… but I think you two…” now jerking his head to indicate Drego and Stitch “have your own truth which may not be so readily understood, hmmm? flaring tempers are nowhere near as productive as understanding and patience, hmmm?”
“except maybe in a fight… but we’ve agreed not to have that between ourselves, hmm?”

Case looks back and forth as at the group. "I meant no offense to the goblin that has a name like any normal creature, the name of which is Stitch. I see that I have upset you with my comments. Perhaps if I refer to the goblin as Stitch going forward, this will assuage your concerns." Then he turns to Stitch, "This is a nice day, is it not .... Stitch."
Then, he half turns, but more to himself, "You may be communicating with the creature, but the words he has used thus far have been exclusively 'I', 'am', and 'Stitch'. The meaning of those words are understood and not malleable. Perhaps some form of telepathy is at play."
Then he turns to Péiste Mór, "Avian lizards are warm blooded."
With all of the 'misunderstandings' resolved, he turns to Robin, "They have failed to stop our approach."
