"It's nice to meet you, Safeguard. My name is Calner Miggledy and I can sympathize with your experiences as a... test subject, but where you look back on such times with melancholy, I do not."
Calner follows the others through the secret door, "C'mon, we don't want to get left behind."
(If possible can Calner move into position 4 or 5? Whichever is acceptable to the group?)

Angus looks at the gnome with concern and says, "You didn't mind being a test subject? To Whom?" His hand strays toward his sword hilt. "Gnome, answer me truthfully, art thou in league with the enemy? Are you in the employ of Thay? Truth, or thy life is in peril!"
So.. were at the top of a flight if stairs. The scouting animal found nobody down there. If anyone elsee had also, they likewise come first to the door. If they try it, they find it's locked.

Upon hearing of the locked door, Tabaqui will descend the stairs and approach it. He will examine it closely for traps. If none are found, he will pull out his thieves' tools and attempt to pick the lock. If there is a trap he will attempt to disarm it.
The lock gives way to Tabaqui's efforts. This chamber houses clay urns, glass jars, and wooden boxes arranged haphazardly on wall-mounted shelves and caked in years of dust.

The stele at the far end of the small room blasts Yabaqui with lightning as soon as he lays eyes on it... if it notices him.
Tabaqui make a stealth check (DC16) and a Dex check (DC15) (applicable on stealth failure). Lightning damage: 24
Stealth: 25 Dex save: 13 Uncanny Dodge applied to damage if hit.
If possible, the rogue dives back through the door which he entered. He drawls to his companions, "Found a trap. I suspect wearing one of those medallions might be protective... If you want to give it a whirl, Vrah. Otherwise, loan it to me and I'll give 'er a go."
"I'll go if Vrah doesn't mind." She'll try and take the medallion back as if it were the most normal action on the planet. She'll also "borrow" and string or twine from someone if able and tie the medallion to her finger
Tabaqui opines, "I'd try wearing it around my neck, and if that didn't work, I'd run up to the stele and loop it over that. No guarantees, but that's what would make sense to me." He shrugs.
"You misheard me good sir knight. I said that while Safeguard may not mind being a test subject, I very much did mind it! It was not these red wizards as I've never met any before. It happened in lands far from here and is of no consequence to our present situation."
(Calner is evasive about where they are from, not naming any specific lands or places by name. They appear earnest and honest with regards to everything else.)
"And my name is Calner, Calner Miggledy."
Upon hearing Tabaqui announce he has found a trap and that the medallions may be needed to circumvent said trap. "How many of those medallions did we find so far? And could there be others hidden somewhere in this barrow? We all may have need of one to avoid such traps."
<FtR, you've recovered 2 medallions. You may not be and to locate others, so these.. let's call them traits, may need to be avoided or otherwise circumvented.>
Equipped with medallion, Weneon bravely ventures into the the well.peotected pantry and is met with no resistance from the stele or otherwise.
Among the dusty clay urns, glass jars, and wooden boxes, she finds one urn still holds 440 gp worth of diamond dust and a wooden box contains a coil of gold twine almost 3 feet long, worth 290 gp. A medallion of safe passage (like the other 2) hangs from a hook on the southern wall.
The hall beyond this door shows signs if distress (as noted by the animal scouts before) the floors are cracked and those lines run through the adjacent walls, suggesting deep structural damage.
Who will continue down the corridor?

Marlyth will volunteer sometimes, sending the pack of Wolves forward to soak up most of the damage. She will cast Guidance on Weneon if she's willing to volunteer out of indomitable curiosity.

I don't know what this means. It sounds kind of like Weneon wants to give a second medallion to Vrah. Am I reading that right?

(Correct, Vrah had one already, so Wen assumed he collects them)

I'm saying this much to pose the question:
Does anyone want to try opening it?

Weneon will always volunteer, her curiosity is greater than even the stereotypes of her people.
