Ricardo brings up the rear, carefully walking around the pit trap. The wizard is still unsure of why they are not continuing onto Phandalin with the wagon load of supplies, but, his companions are obviously more experienced at this type of work than he is, so he follows along quietly trying to keep and eye (and ear) out for anything that seems unusual.
Gramogar gets around the simple trap uttering, "stupid goblins" as he makes it to the other side. This'll be easy as he continues down the path, eating some jerky he saved from earlier that day.
The path opens up into a clearing, on one side there is some trees and there is a river in the center of the clearing leading into the mouth of a dark cave.
Stopping the group, he turns to face them. "Looks like we may have found home base. I'm ready to charge up there, anyone want to join me?" he then finishes his jerky and peers into the clearing, looking for more traps (perception). 22
Before casting sleep, Ricardo will ask if anyone wants to move closer so that they can attack in case of any problems. The young wizard will move to within 80 feet of the goblins before casting the spell. Using a small bit of sand in the pouch on his waist, Ricardo will cast the spell, affecting 11 hit points of goblins.
right as he gets into position, he watches the goblins as they speak to each other and suddenly fall asleep. He looks back at Ricardo and nods, signals the rest of the group to follow and crosses the stream.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"We should probably put them down before continuing. We don't want them to sneak up on us in case they wake up. You mind?" He raises his mace to kill them off and looks to the others for permission. (if ok with group, he strikes the first Attack: 15 Damage: 9 )
After casting the sleep spell, Ricardo moved to the back of the party and let others take care of finishing off the goblins. The young wizard hoped that the wagon was safe where they left it, and that the other party members would find what they were seeking in this cave.
Gramogar finishes eliminating the 2 sleeping goblins and they face the mouth of this cave. only being able to see a little into the cave itself. "there's probably a whole bunch of em in there. Let's try to catch one and get some answers"

You see two goblins hidden behind the bushes. They have simple metal swords.
Whispering "I can see 2 buggers over there, can anyone sneak up and take em out? maybe get em from here. What do you all think?"

Ricardo replies "I can put them to sleep as long as I can get within 90 feet of them."
Ardreck looks over and shrugs, "I am not a sneaky person. I will wait here and rush to your aid should you need it."

As Ricardo gets closer to cast his magic, Gramogar tries to get as close as possible to catch any incoming attacks. (stealth w/ disadvantage 13 )

The goblins have been put sleep. Now it is safe to cross the stream.

The briars were hiding the goblins but you can see them now. They are medium sized male goblins. They seemed to be watching the entrance to the cave.

Ardreck nods, "Goblins are no friends of mine." He then walks towards the cave and peers towards it, "We may find answers in here."

Do you enter the cave?
Ardreck leads the way into the cave, watching for more goblins.
