"I would need some rest before taking an animal shape again," Rahkeshi says. She then pauses a moment, looking distracted. "Hmm, perhaps with the elk crown now I could get us all down." She then looks over to Aurelius and Flynt. "If you would accept being transformed into birds."
"Or,I could cast my climbing spell again, though it will only work on one person at a time," she adds, glancing at Aurelius.
"The great animal spirit would eat all your stuff," Rahkeshi says. "They just love shiny metal." She lets the words linge for a moment before chuckling. "Not really. It's much like a normal druidic animal form - the equipment gets absorbed into the animal form."
"Could I change back whenever I want? Would I automatically know how to fly, or am I going to plummet to the ground while trying to figure out how wings work? I know you strange nature-priests can shape-change but I've never really been clear on the details...."
"Perhaps we can get going then?"Elyria says somewhat impatiently, starting to head back towards the garden, messaging Aelric for a report on the situation outside the fortress and particularly around the garden.
"Most intelligent beings figure out how to move in the new forms near instantly,"Rahkeshi says as she starts to follow Elyria. "So perhaps you have a small chance."
Aelric returns to Elyria in the garden, reporting a couple of small groups of Eladrin patrolling areas below. None are near the cliff base though. No other significant movement is noted.
"Ready to fly?" Elyria turns and asks Aurelius and Flynt as her own winged boots lift her off the garden ground, ready to fly her down below the cliff, then saying farewell to her brave pack of wolves before sending them away to rest, then using her forest magic to radiate a veil of shadows and silence, then asking Aelric to try to spot Sabynn to see if she could be contacted before the team leaves for Yoë's hidden cottage.
Cast Pass Without Trace, +10 stealth rolls to team
(OOC - Flying in mid-air there is not really an opportunity for stealth, so rolls and bonuses are meaningless until the situation changes. But the +10 applies if somewhere it is possible.)
Rahkeshi glances over at Elyria. "I will include you as well since your boots would be much slower flying." She nods to Flynt, returning his gesture, then looks to Aurelius. "Here it goes, let's get back to the hideout." She then briefly says a few words in Druidic and everyone is transformed into Giant Eagles.
(Lasts 24 hours. Take on the statistics (inlcuding hp) of the chosen beast except INT, WIS, and CHA. or until the target drops to 0 hit points. If drop to 0 hp, excess damage carries over to your normal form. Can only perform actions of new form, can't speak or cast spells - still understand known languages however. Gear melds into the form and cannot be used in any way.)
Rahkeshi-Eagle flies up from the ground circling the garden to await the others.

Elyria nods and lets herself be transformed into a giant eagle, not being unused to the transformation but she is a bit wary as she strokes her giant wings as she has never before turned into a bird. Taking to the air and soon finding herself comfortable she lets out a screech to signal that she is ready to head back to Yoë's hideout.
(My interpretation of the Perception skill in Giant Eagle form - You retain your character's WIS score, but you have a +2 "proficiency" bonus to that. So Aur-eagle-us should get a +2 and Elyria gets +5. However, Giant Eagles have Keen Sight which gives you Advantage if it involves sight. Which I would say these do.)
Just a few minutes after taking flight, Elyria notices something large in the sky. It is some distance away but seems to be closing in on Leilatha's Fortress.

Not being able to speak, Sephyre let's out a screech to get the other giant eagles' attention to the large flying creature approaching the keep. She keeps flying but messages Aelric to fly and find out if is the dragon they met earlier.
Another perception to discern what it is: 24 Aelric perception if needed: 21
(I agree with Culuril's interpretation but added 1 for stone of good luck which I figured would still be active :-)
Everyone is able to see the large figure approaching. Both Aurelius and Elyria are able to tell the shape seems dragon-like and the color is a deep blue.
(OOC: And no - the luck stone does not work. No equipment functions in any manner when melded into your animal form. This is true using the druid animal form also. Although there you can choose to have equipment not meld and drop to the ground instead. You still must somehow 'wear' or hold the items to use them in animal form.)

"Very well, transform me. I've always wondered what it would feel like to be able to fly." The paladin practices flapping his arms a bit.
"It will get easier to take off once you are transformed." Elyria laughs softly as she watches Aurelius flapping his arms.
Flynt indicates his readiness with a dip of the brim of his hat.
