Smacking her forehead, Rahkinchu replies, still speaking Orc, "Of course! DRAKE river! You actually have a dragon that lives in the river!"
She then looks out into the crowd for her companions and yells out very loudly, in Common, "Guys! There's a dragon in the water! Get it? We're in DRAKE water."
She then looks back to the bartender, waiting for her ale.
Beatrix approaches the bar, somewhat tentatively, “Good day barkeep, may I enquire as to what libations you are able to offer? Could you also offer any information about raids that have been occurring locally? I hear some of the local villages have experienced a spot of bother”
Rahkinchu snatches up the ale and takes a big swig of it. "Thanks! You are more than welcome to charge that guy though." She laughs as she motions her hand towards Aeneas.
She starts to step away, but hangs close by as Beatrix questions the barkeep.
Bryant accompanied Rahkinchu to the bar and while he didn't understand what was initially said he certainly understood the word drake.
"You all live next to a known drake? You are either very brave or very stupid and having met your Mayor I am leaning toward the latter. My name is Bryant and despite our eccentricities," and he leans his head toward Aeneas "we are here to help. Tell how has life been here in town, we heard rumors of a flying ship."

Before entering the tavern Sinver dismounts and commands his Steel Defender, "Winke, stay outside and keep watch. Make it look like you are a statue of sorts. If you see anything suspicious get me right away."
As he enters the tavern he hangs back near the door and takes a look at the place. With his Observant Feat he tries to read lips of the people around. First at the bartender then toward the people Aeneas has engaged.
Rahkinchu laughs, replying in Orc. "Oh yes, she's a friend. Not a rabbit but..." She struggles as there is really no good translation, so she just says in Common, "Rabbitfolk."
The bartender, apparently still confused but smiling nonetheless, says;
“Ohhh, okay. Yes, the Drake is actually very friendly when it’s awake. It sleeps most of the time you see, but when it wakes up, about once every decade, the whole town throws a massive festival, and the Drake performs a dance for us before going back to sleep. It’s said that even in his sleep, he protects us. Ever ready should the need arise to help the town. Most people round here don’t think much of the ship, though they believe the raids are a real threat, they must be conducted by goblins or somewhat.”
Aeneas plops 5 gold pieces down on the bar, and tells the barkeep, "Good man, let me know if that runs out. Truly, I lie not, ale for all!" Then he visits the various tables that beckoned him over, smiling, and offering to sign autographs or flex for them. And as an afterthought, he asks about flying pirate ships.
Listening to the bartender, Rahkinchu finishes off the rest of her ale then places the mug back on the counter.
"Does the town know when the drake is going to wake up? Is he due to awaken soon by any chance?" she asks in Orc, with obvious curiosity.
She then turns to Beatrix and Bryant, switching to Common. "I would love to meet a dragon! Wouldn't that just be fascinating? Maybe he could help us with this airship even."
Bryant nods,"Admittedly I have never seen a Drake or a Dragon... I can't imagine meeting one that is friendly and dances, seems rather incredible if you ask me. Regardless, I hope we can help these people long before then."He turns once more to the half-orc and placing a gold piece on the counter, "Please good barkeep I'll have a pint of your renown ale and a bit of information. I will pay for both myself. If you can tell me what you know about these raids and if there is anyone here in town that is already investigating this threat? I'd also appreciate any insight into your Mayor... We met him a bit ago and offered our help, he was rather dismissive"

”Please, the first drink for each of you is on me. As far as I know, the only one round here with any interest in those raids is the Deputy. You won’t get anything outta Gills, he’s always drunk unless he’s campaigning for re-election.”
Aeneas [oops] teaches some old drinking songs from his soldiering days to the tavernites gathered around him, and leads them in a rousing chorus of "Gnomes in the Cellar" and "The Elf-maiden of Evergreen".
"Yea, Mayor Gills did seem a bit drunk. Where would we find the Deputy?" Rahkinchu asks.
She looks about the tavern and the various groups roused to song by Aeneas. "Dang, we might just have to leave Mister Sparkle Vest here with his fans while we go chat with this Deputy," she comments, extremely sarcastically.
Noticing Rahkinchu is about to leave the tavern Val is close behind, having had a quick meal at her corner table. "So, where are we going now Rahkinchu? What did you find out?" She asks the half-orc, relieved to get out of the noisy tavern and into the cool air outside.
As Valeria and Rahkinchu approach the door where Sinver was waiting he answers Valeria's question, "It seems the Deputy of this little backwater town might know more about the raids than the rest of this lot. So it'd be best if we see him."
Sinver looks back at his other 3 party members and comments, "Although it might be best if we leave the other three here to see what info they can gather since some of these folks might know some obscure detail that no one else has. I'll go with you guys and after we see the deputy we'll come back here to regroup. And if either of us happen to deviate from that... I trust Beatrix enough that we'll be able to find each other. She's derailed my plans numerous times with her spontaneity, but somehow it always works out."
He flips down the visor of his helm and activates it. Through his Helm of Telepathy he casts Detect Thoughts and sends a telepathic message to Beatrix, "Hey Bea, got some intel and Rahkinchu, Valeria, and I are gonna to confront the Deputy about it. We'll meet you back here after we've met up with him... and for whatever reason if you aren't here when we get back, try to leave a message of some kind. Over and out."
(OOC - I was waiting to actually hear from the barkeeper where the Deputy can be found before heading out. But presuming he told me...)
Rahkinchu seems a little taken aback with Sinver answering Valeria's question. She quickly shrugs it off though, it's the sort of thing he does. "Yea, the Deputy. Sounds like he's the one that knows what's going on. We should talk to him."
Once outside, Rahkinchu walks with Valeria. She gives her an appraising look. "You ok? Really seemed like you were glad to get out of there. Almost like you had escaped from a cage."
