"Oh boy, this gets better and better, we are supposed to take a pigeon's word for where they went? The way I see it, if they are gone in the morning, mission accomplished. If they aren't, well, we know what comes next. And if a pigeon shows up with a map showing us where we will be ambushed, we make them sorry they put us on this snipe hunt, if they are true to their word, then I guess we find our way to Barovia to see this Madame Eva. I'm in!"

Razi is completely unfamiliar with his 'Barovia', and despite his outward enthusiasm for helping these strangers, he has some concerns about what they are getting themselves into. Despite the earlier reluctance of most here to speak with him, he lingers for a bit, trying to make small talk and learn anything he can about these people, or their destination.
"I'm afraid I am ignorant of your homeland. Is it in the mountains? What sort of weather should we expect? Do we need heavy clothing? I'm... I'm told there are mists? Is it near a moor or lake or some other large body of water? Are there supplies we may should pick up now before we depart, or can we count on having access to a regular trade route?"

Barovia...the name tickles at the back of Nelyna's mind. She wonders if Master Neralmo has ever mentioned it to her before. It sounds like a strange, dark place. As the old man had told his story, a shiver had passed through her body, watching the figures flicker in the flames. Her companions seemed eager to take the job, more for coin than anything else, but to her it sounded dangerous. Curses were nothing to mess around with, and she should know. Still, this sounded like exactly the sort of adventure she needed to get under her belt if she were to get back into her master's good graces.
As she listens to Razi question the old man, she can't help but feel grateful that he is thoughtful enough to ask the practical questions that need asking. If they are to take on this journey, it's clear they need to be as prepared as they possibly can be. Before agreeing to take the job, she racks her brain for what she knows about curses, especially curses that could turn someone into a tyrant. And what sort of dark magic prevented others from leaving a land?
"I shall go to Barovia with my companions," she finally says. "My knowledge of the arcane arts should prove useful in determining the source of the curse and how to break it."

Jim sighs as he is given little information, it seemed like his silver tongue was failing him. Or perhaps it was the case that these people had somehow enchanted themselves to see their way through deception and persuasion? Yeah, that was probably it, Jim decides.
Regardless, he decides to climb back down the side of the wagon and rejoin everyone else.
"So what do we know about this Madame Eva? Is she around here or what?"

Seeing Jim climb down from the wagon, Razi tries to answer his question. “Good news. These folk will be packing up and moving on. Also… the rest of us will be going with them. A noble fellow that looks after these people has fallen under a terrible curse. We will go with them to their home in Barovia and find a way to lift it. You didn’t have anything important going on for the next couple of weeks, did you? Care to join us? It will likely be dangerous but I have it on good authority that it is a righteous endeavor.”

Jim considers Razi's response. Disappearing for a couple of weeks without contacting Wormmouth would risk him being made an example. He could return to find guards waiting for him with handcuffs. Not contacting Pavan either could make the dragon angry with him. On the other hand, this noble does sound like someone in need and surely there would be a great reward? Plus this noble would surely have a few other things that he could steal when no one else was looking. There could be enough to satisfy both of them for a long while, maybe even escape Wormmouth's clutches. Although, Pavan he was still fond of and wouldn't mind sending something his way on the occasion.
"Just what exactly is the nature of this curse? And when would we be leaving?"

"I am glad we are going as a group, I have no experiences with curses but I would like to talk to Madame Eva. If this turns into some flim flam, I bet you guys will see it before I do. I just hope Barovia isn't too hot."
"My friends, this is not good. I feel cold and I don't like it. I like being cold but not now. Something is amiss, I council a hasty return to Daggerford."
Nelyna glances at the dragonborn. She is still a bit afraid of him, not being very experienced with his kind, but at least he is on their side, she tells herself. As the cold mists begin to swirl around them, she clutches her cloak tighter about her body.
"We've accomplished our mission," she says. "I agree with Sleet, time to return to town."

Jim walks over to Sleet and places a hand on his shoulder, "Calm yourself. You probably just got used to being around the wagons and the fire. Now that they have moved on we're just feeling the cold air.
Anyway, let's be off and we can let the people of Daggerford know that we have dealt with the travellers. You never know, they might just have a reward for us after all.
Although, I wonder why they didn't bother with recruiting any of the guards? Although, that does remind me, did anyone try to get the gold back?"

Razi stands and watches them depart into the darkness, the last of the group to notice the chill of the season creeping in. He shivers, as much from his discontent at the travelers ignoring his simple questions as from the cold air.
"It is a bit chilly, isn't it."
He turns and joins the others for the walk back to the gates of Daggerford. "Someone should inform the Lady that her 'guests' have taken to the road. If she intended to compensate us for this task - other than by sharing that delicious meal - perhaps she can provide us with some supplies for our journey."

"Nothing to it," Caine says as he pats the bored guard on his back. "Took some persuasion and old Sleet here had to put a hand to hilt to put a little seriousness into the mix, but they knew they were out matched by this group."
Caine then leans in a little closer.
"Your mates, the charmed ones," he says in a low voice. "They okay now?"
Nelyna listens closely as Caine asks the guard about his charmed friends. She is curious about the kind of magic the travelers used. Perhaps if one of the guards were still charmed, she could learn what kind of enchantment was at play.
"If your friends are still charmed, I could take a look at them and see if there is anything I can do," Nelyna offers. "I have skill in such matters."

Caine shrugs and spreads his arms and hands open.
”Don’t worry about these guys. Lots of talk about righteousness and good deeds. But there was also definitely mention of compensation.“
Caine looks around to make sure the travellers aren’t nearby and listening.
”Curse? Probably just high on him self. Regardless, we’ll come out of this with full purses plus whatever else we find along the way.”

Caine looks at the mists and moves a step closer to the others, his eyes flick about, half expecting something to materialize out of the dark.
"Yeah, Daggerford sounds good to me," Caine chimes in, a bit of his earlier bravado dampened. But then he smiles, "Bound to be a pub still open."
Then he begins heading back to the Daggerford gate, striding with purpose but making sure not to break into a run.
