Opening Recruiting again due to an absolutely tiny group.
Hello everybody! I am simply a beginner DM looking to run a homebrew campaign but with a.... 'bizarre' twist.
Stands, of course! All players who wish to use a Stand must use this class listed here. Of course, this is completely optional and players may use anything they please. All official content is a-okay, and Homebrew and UA are accepted but would be preferable to be passed by me first. I post at around 10:00 - 6:00 EST every weekday. I'll see you all there!
When posting characters, please use this organizer.
Name: Race: Class: Ability Scores, Standard or Rolled: Backstory: (OPTIONAL) Stand Name: (OPTIONAL) Stand Type: (OPTIONAL) Stand Subclass:
This looks great, leaving a placeholder for the sheet info here. Will update later today.
Name: Leo Starblood Race: Tiefling Class: Stand-User Ability Scores, Standard or Rolled:Ability scores: 10129111110 Backstory:
Leo is a navigator aboard the exploration ship Night Runner. During an expedition, he discovered a buried cache of treasure, including a strange arrowhead which pricked him. Angered, he tossed the arrowhead away and thought nothing more of it.
That night, he came down with an awful fever and was confined to his cabin to recover, and passed the time by staring out the window into the night sky with his spyglass. The stars seemed to come alive, moving according to his whim. He would soon learn of the nature of his stand, which he named ‘Skynrd’ after its ability to capture stars from the sky.
(OPTIONAL) Stand Name: Skynrd (Named after the band. SkyNerd is the localized name) (OPTIONAL) Stand Type: Bound Object (Spyglass) (or Humanoid, not sure) (OPTIONAL) Stand Subclass: Custom Stand
Ability concept:
Skynrd’s ability is to ‘capture’ stars from other galaxies seen through the spyglass, shrink them, and use them as flame or gravity attacks before returning them back into the sky. The stars are small and not nearly as destructive as their full-size counterparts, obviously.
Definitely sounds like something I'd be up for :) currently going to work so I'll update this later with a character idea. I'm thinking a Cleric of some kind.
Name: Issac Fowl Merrick Race: Human Class: Sorcerer Ability Scores, Standard or Rolled: Str 14, Dex 9, Con 17, Int 11, Wis 16, Cha 13.
Backstory.
Issac was the descendant of the great Wizard Hawthorn, a skulled headed mage who was very powerful back in old Britain. Issac comes from a long line of Magic and crafters. He, himself, is a Smither. He makes things out of metal, swords, shelids, or he can turn others weapons into metal liquid. He hates being around other people but will do it for the money. He loves small animals and has a let salamander named Fizz. (note: ALWAYS wears his hood up over his head, never takes it off. His eyes and nose are hidden under the hoods shadow.)
weapons: A brown leather and gold bound spell book from Hawthorn. Has a black steel chain on the spine and a sun dial like pattern on the cover.
Bizarre is always fun! And I've wanting to try out an artificer, I'd love to join!
Name: Fenyra Tosscobble Race: Mark of Healing Halfling Class: Artificer Ability Scores, Standard or Rolled: 8 15 14 15 12 10 (Standard) Backstory: Fenyra came from a long line of shoe cobblers. As the oldest in her family, she was to take over the family business when she was old enough, but to her, this was boring and thankless work. She yearned for more and told her family so. They thanked her for her honesty by throwing her out and making her change her last name from Cobbler to Tosscobble. At first it burned her everytime she had to use it, but once she figured out that tinkering and making things with her hands that were far superior to shoes she became proud of her last name. Now she yearns to go and see the world and learn what she can with her newly discovered aptitude.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
This sounds interesting though sadly I have never watched JoJo.
Still putting in a place holder. Going to roll ability first and then start putting in character stuff as soon as I finish reading the Stand-User Homebrew.
Name: Eric Lavernes Race: Variant Human (Resilient - WIS) Class: Stand User
Abilities: Rolled {10, 10, 11, 11, 14, 15}
Backstory (Let me know if it doesn't quite work with how the Stands work, again never seen Jojo. I'll change it to fit more with how people obtain Stands)
Lavernes was a student at a wizard school, studying the basics of magic in hopes of one day learning to cast spells himself. One day, he and his friends got together to try because one of them got the keys to the head wizards secret lair. At night they snuck in to look at all the magical artifacts their master had stashed away. While looking, a pale blue gem fell from a shelf and landed next to Lavernes. He went to pick it up to investigate but the moment he touched it, a paralyzing pain shot though his body and the gem jumped on to the back of his hand, warping the skin around it to permanently attach itself to his hand. He then learned that using the gem, he could summon a Stand that was contained within it, the Machine Stand Ex Machina.
Stand Name: Ex Machina (No real musical influence as I want to play with a robot themed stand and I usually just listen to JPop and Video game music) Stand Type: Other (or humanoid? Not sure. I imagine the stand to be a medium robot. ) Stand Subclass: Custom
Ability concept:
Instead of having one or two extremely powerful powers, I imagine this stand to have a many weaker and less flashy powers all themed around weapons and machinery. Like firing a volley of micro-missiles, punching with a hydrolic powered fist, flying with back mounted jets, firing a laser rifle. etc.
Just randomly posting here because I think this'll be a good place to put this. If you're still craving that sweet, sweet JoJo RP, I just made a new tavern!
*Okay, this time I'm definitely going to try and think of a stand ability*
Name: Okami Ue
Race: Human
Class: Stand User
Backstory: Okami was the 'quiet kid' throughout his life. He almost never talked to people, and when he did, they tended to not want to talk to him again after while, so he had no friends at all, that is, until he met DIO a year before he would graduate high school. DIO lured Okami in with promises of no longer being lonely, and he gave Okami a stand with the stand arrow, from which he gained DD.
*Might update more later*
Stand: DD (Duran Duran)
Stand Type: Beast (An almost skeletal wolf)
Stand ability: Consumption, can consume and digest any material safely, regardless of what it is. Can also bite through almost everything to allow it to take smaller bites of larger things.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Name: Amadea Mo Race: V. Human (Tough feat) Class: Stand User 2/ Sorcerer (Blue Mage) 3 Ability Scores, Rolled: 14131211159 (OPTIONAL) Stand Name: Wolf Pack (OPTIONAL) Stand Type: Swarm (OPTIONAL) Stand Subclass: Automatic (Smell Sense)
Ability Concept:
Wolf Pack of Many Things
Each wolf can shapeshift into any mundane item for an indefinite amount of time. As an action, you can cause any number of wolves to shapeshift into a single item of your choice. The max worth and size of the item depends on how many wolves are used in this process. Items created in this way adopt the item's stats and function exactly like the item it mimics. While in this state, the wolf can only: use its senses as normal, speak (although it can only be heard by other Stand Users), and share senses with its Stand User. Additionally, as a bonus action you can cause any number of these items to enter Automatic mode, allowing them to leave its effective range.
All creatures can see and interact with items created in this way. If the created items are destroyed or if its use causes the item to be consumed (such as being used for spell components with a gp cost), the item disappears and the wolves used to create the item are dispelled. Wolves dispelled in this way do not interfere with the stand's concentration (if you have other wolves that are concentrating) and can be resummoned as per usual Stand rules. You can have any number of items created in this way so long as you have enough wolves to create them. As a bonus action, you can have any number of items created in this way revert back to its wolf form and either instantly return back to you or stay where it was last located, in which Automatic stand rules apply if it is out of range. Using this bonus action does not use up the limited uses of this ability.
Shapeshift Max Size Table:
1 wolf -> tiny
4 wolves -> small/ medium
16 -> large
36 -> huge
64 -> gargantuan
Shapeshift Max Worth: Each wolf used to create an item increases the amount the item can be worth by 1 gp. You can invest PP into this ability to increase the amount of gp each wolf contributes by 1 gp for each point of PP invested in this way.
(For balancing purposes, this ability requires an initial investment of 3 PP. The assumption is that the 3 PP puts the ability on par with two similar, level 4 spells: fabricate and polymorph).
Additional Ability Concept (due to having a personality score over 26):
Wolf Howl
As a bonus action, you can have all of your wolves howl in unison to bolster or hinder one's abilities. Target one creature within 60 feet of at least one wolf from your Wolf Pack, that creature must make a wisdom save (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + stand's personality modifier). A creature can choose to willingly fail this save. On a failed save, you can use your reaction to apply a bonus or penalty (your choice) to one attack roll, saving throw or ability check the creature makes within the next minute. You decide whether to apply a bonus or penalty after seeing the creature's roll. The bonus/ penalty modifier is equal to the amount of wolves you have summoned that can howl divided by 20 (rounded down). For this calculation, you do not include wolves that are used in your Wolf Pack of Many Things ability.
Stand users can hear the howls if they are no more than 100 feet away from the Wolf Pack. A creature does not need to be able to hear the howl to be affected by this ability's affects.
You can invest additional PP in this ability, to increase the number of creatures you can target by one for each point.
Backstory:
Amadea (Uh-maw-dee-uh) was a timid, failing student at a prestige wizard school; only getting in because the school needed to reach a certain quota. Although she had arcane abilities, the process of learning magic was beyond her intellect. Her magic was much more innate than learned. One day, the school had brought in an odd specimen for dissection: a wolf that had drowned in a pool of liquid wild magic. From the moment she saw the specimen, she felt an outside force compelling her to consume the wolf. It was a bizarre and invasive urge, so Amadea did her best to ignore it. But as the days went on, the urge grew stronger and stronger until she eventually snuck into the lab one night. Despite numerous days after passing, the wolf's corpse was still incredibly fresh. Egged on by the invasive thoughts, Amadea cut out the wolf's heart and ate it. Oddly enough it tasted divine, unlike anything Amadea had ever eaten before. After consuming the heart, a wealth of knowledge and power surged through her body. The combination of wolf flesh, wild magic, and Amadea's own innate magic mingled within Amadea to form a new power. The power manifested itself as Wolf Pack: a pack of shapeshifting, sentient wolves loyal to Amadea. In addition to this power, Amadea developed an insanely large appetite and unfaltering confidence to match it. Amadea now travels the land with her wolf pack, driven by her hunger to consume other beings of power.
Backstory: Unthar was not always his name. His given name he never remembered. He used to wander with his people roaming the lands as a young child till one day he wandered from the path they were on and became lost. Days went as he wandered the wilderness in search of his family till he came across a small traveling group of dwarves on their way home from the mines. The leader Vonkar chose to take the child in and help raise him till his tribe came looking for him. Not knowing the child's name he called him Unthgar. Years passed and ther was no sign of a fire genasi tribe anywhere. Unthgar learned as much as he could about surviving the wilderness and living a simple life. He had friends he would play with but he always felt part from the community. Just so happens that one day not long after Unthar turned 15 him and his friends were just being lazy on a summers day not really doing anything when along came the local bully Lotgur. Lotgur had always picked on the little ones but he truly disliked Unthgar and so gave him the worst of it. Lotgur was very cruel this day and didn't realize how angry it was making Unthgar till it was too late. Unthgars eyes flashed with flame as his hands burst fire forward engulfing the young dwarf. Unthgar watched as he burned to charred cinder. He took piec of the charred bone as a reminder of what he had done and ran as fast as he could and so began Unthgars adventure.....https://www.dndbeyond.com/profile/BrianWebb/characters/67506439
