"THIS IS PRIME YETI TERRITORY!" Gelri shouts above the storm. "IF WE FEEL READY, WE COULD TRY TO CONVINCE THE YETI TO SHOW ITSELF IF WE CONTINUE!" She moves towards the front of the group, watching carefully for any signs of a monster.
The snow is a bit over a foot deep, so that if you were to allow yourself to sink into it completely the snow would cover your entire foot and ankle. Ivo does not know of any shelter in the immediate vicinity, beyond that of Bryn Shander which now lies beyond the blizzard.
Here's a map of Ten Towns if you find it useful:
At this point you are no farther than a mile northeast of Bryn Shander, with no sign of the sled in sight.

"Has anyone seen, much less fought, a yeti before? They are like ghosts on the snow, even more so in weather like this. Our group could handle a single yeti but if there is a pack out there we will be lucky if any of us return to Bryn Shander. We should turn back and wait out the storm in town the sled will still be there after it passes."
(OOC: I assume no one brought tents or anything like that and that there are no hollows or rock outcroppings that could provide shelter? Ivo has no idea of anyone's relative experience in the north, other than his own time here in the north for the past year or so and so he's being cautious as he feels somewhat responsible for the group, not wanting any of his "charges" to do anything reckless.)
Lance clutches his cloak closed about his shoulders. "I don't like the idea of walking blind - I can barely see past my nose. I don't have much experience in these parts, but I've built a primitive shelter or two in my days. Does snow insulate and keep hear in? We could find a deep snow drift and dig a hole for shelter from the wind."
(OOC: Did we set out straight towards Kelvin's Cairn or did we follow one of the roads that would take us close to there? Not sure what route the dwarves took and lost their sled).

You don't see any hollows or rock outcroppings in the immediate vicinity, but you can move around and look if you wish. If so, give me a Perception check with disadvantage.

I'm assuming you are all walking straight towards Kelvin's Cairn as there are no known roads that lead near there without a serious detour, but you can search for a path if you wish.
"Come on! They saw a single yeti. We should be fine. Going back empty handed, even if only for a night, shows weakness. We should press on," Gleri shouts over the wind. "I know of a few memebers of my tribe who fought a yeti. My brother once shoved one off a cliff. With all of us here it should be fine."
"I see no cliffs here. We do not need to go back empty handed to not press ahead. If we can find or build a shelter, we can wait out the storm. If the sled of ore is out there, it's unlikely it is moving on its own and I don't expect the yeti will carry it off."
Having said his piece, Ivo focuses his attention on the surroundings, doing his best to prevent the group from being surprised by anything that might be out lurking in the storm.
Edlyn stops and gets close to the rest of the group and dishearteningly says to Gleri, "They might just be right though. As much as I would love to press on, we have little chance of cornering a Yeti out in this. But I the like idea of a simple shelter, ride this out."
Edlyn then hollers to everyone trying to drown out the wind, "If we move away we better grab a hand, wrist, something! We should try to find some materials to build with!"
Gren, who has stayed silent until now, nods at Edlyn's shout. Then responds, "Prudence and patience are better smiths than reckless bravery. As I have no experience with this, I think we should take the safe option." They grasp Edlyn's forearm and reaches for Gelri's, shouting over the wind, "While you are certainly a mighty tracker and northern denizen, I am not. Are ye willing to take a more cautious approach for my sake?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gelri stops and shrugs. "If it is what the rest of you desire, we should try to find or create shelter. It will be a long and difficult walk back." She then looks to find any helpful shelter or cover from the wind. 19 or 14 taking the lowest cause I don't know the code for disadvantage on the phone.
Ivo, scanning his surroundings for any sign of movement, finds himself confident that the party is not in any immediate danger. However, as his vision is limited due to the ferocious blizzard, he can not know what lurks beyond.
Gelri finds no shelter in the immediate area, but notices that the party is sitting at the base of a hill or crest in the snow, but it remains unclear as to how far up this hill or crest stretches.
((Apologies for the late response, I've been busy with the holiday season. Hope you all had a great Christmas!))

Edlyn shouts over the wind as she continues trying to get everyone to hold onto one another; Nobody needed to go missing so soon, "I'm fine with going back if most of you feel it safest but you all think this storm is just going to let up overnight? If we go back and try later we may still have to go through the storm anyways."
((Can Edlyn tell how long the storm's been going and if it might actually let up at some point? Or is this a kind of storm that could just be raging for days? SurvivalRoll: 7 ))

Ivo shouts to be heard above the din of the storm, "We are not prepared for a storm like this, by going back we can get proper supplies for traveling and surviving in this kind of weather. I agree, I don't think it's going to let up overnight which I why we need to get the right supplies to make sure the weather doesn't kill us while we try to find the sled and bring it back."
Edlyn nods to Ivo, unsure if she can really even see it but still replies, "That sounds like a great idea. We must make haste then! Longer we're out here, better the chance we get caught up in something."
She prepares to guide everyone back toward the Inn in hopes they can all regroup and prepare for this excursion better. Sadly this job would have to wait for a moment.

(Nope Ivo’s not moving to try and find anything with the visibility only being 10 feet. Too easy to get lost and separated, he sticks with the group.)
