Stor grabs his gear, intending to follow the others to the artisan's shop. He has no leather, and the symbol was already added to the metal boss of his shield, but he wanted to see more of the compound. He was a long way away from his small village and there was much to see. "What's the hold up?" he calls up to those huddled by the door "What are we waiting on?"
(Whomever is looking through the crack...) You see the bare ankles and leather slip-ons of someone laying on the floor outside your door. You also see a bloodstain on the floor.
Hearing someone is injured, or worse, on the far side of the door, Stor springs into action. If Eboko is unsuccessful with the thieves tools, Stor pushes him out of the way and throws his shoulder against the door, trying to force it open.
As the door is not locked, it cannot be picked. The door opened an inch, it just hit the body on the far side of it.
The murder
Stor rushes forward, slamming his shoulder into the door. It opens, a loud crack accompanying the motion of the door, as something in the body gives with a loud snap.
You see an old woman lying on the ground, clearly dead. It’s hard to say what draws your attention first. A golden-plated dagger is inserted in the middle of her stomach, from which a dark stain spreads across her long, dark blue vest sprinkled with stars. The stain becomes more vividly red upon reaching the stone floor and trails toward the west corner of the corridor, as if she had crawled there—or was dragged. One of the woman's legs appears to have broken, likely as stor shoved the door open. The victim’s eyes are wide and her body is stiff. Her index finger sticks out from her rigidly closed right hand, which leans against the door. Her left hand is firmly closed in a fist and holds a piece of smooth beige fabric. You see a blue brooch pinned close to her heart. On it is the number 3, written in white.
As you take a closer look at the body, two things jump out at you. First is that there is a symbol on the dagger buried in the woman's belly. It is your team's symbol. Second, on the door itself, three letters are written there in blood. They are 'Sto', and are written near the victom's finger. .
Tel'ure steps into the corridor, taking in everything. He's remarkably calm given the bloody scene before him. "...the dagger. Gold-plated. I don't believe any of us own a dagger like that. Furthermore it appears she may have been trying to write 'Stor' on the door - coincidentally, Stor and only Stor lost his badge in the attack in the penumbral. The conclusion I come to is that somebody grabbed the brooch, followed us back into the material plane, used Stor's brooch to get the symbol crafted on the dagger, disguised themselves perhaps, and then stabbed her before dragging her body here to frame us and disqualify our team."
He sighs. "If we're to clear our names, that starts with alerting the relevant authorities as soon as possible, so people do not wonder why we delayed in getting help."
Corgretor nods, "Agreed, there is magic to determine the truth, hopefully it is available here. But any deceit on our part will only work against us. They know we'd lost a badge during the crossing and its clear the body was put here while we were inside given what we had to do to get out."
Corgretor shrugs, then gestures briefly causing the sound of ringing bells to echo through the area, attempting to call attention to themselves (minor illusion).
Directly after the sound of the illusionary bells ends you can hear the sound of feet approaching. A moment later an officer, with two soldiers, all wearing the uniform of the guard, approaches. "Stand aside, and away from the body." The officer barks to the group of you as she spots the dead body and the trail of blood. "What has happened here." She says a moment later, eyes having traveled the crime scene, though she has not moved closer to the body.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Stor kneels down to the lady, trying to see what aid he can provide, although she is very clearly dead. His eyes widen in shock and horror as he sees the writing on the door and Tel-ure’s words start to sink in “What? No! I would never, I did not do such a thing. The authorities cannot think it was me.” he winces as the sound of bells fill the air, sure to bring the guards. “Should we follow the bloodstain and see what we can find?”
Noticing the beige fabric in the woman’s hands, Stor gently pulls it free to see if there are any markings or messages on it. Perception: 7.
Before the officer arrives you are able to pull the fabric free... You look at it and believe it used to be part of the opening of a bag, and notice that there is a bloodstain on the bottom of the fabric and many black ink smudges on her fingers. You also notice that the bag was cut by a sharp tool.

Corgretor shakes his head, "I would rather wait for the authorities, rather than risk further suspicion."
When the guard arrives, he shows his hands are empty and steps away from the body, "We are not sure of the details, but when we tried to leave our room this morning, the door was blocked, forcing it open we discovered this poor fallen soul wedged against our door. We examined her briefly and discovered it appears an attempt was made to lay the blame at our door. As we are no fools and trust in the justice of the Imperium, we called for you."
"Indeed." Tel'ure adds. "It should be noted that the murder weapon - a gold dagger, is not one that we have owned. The symbol was likely put on it by the smith of this keep after our culprit showed him a stolen team brooch, so his testimony will be vital to knowing how this plays out."

There is no answer, nor any sound of movement outside your door. Give me a perception check...
Eboko perception 22 or passive 15
You'd have to push your companion out of the way, as they are the only one currently able to see through the crack of the door...
Corgretor would move back out of the way easily.
(Ok he won’t push, but he will offer to peek and listen.)

“We appear to be locked in” Eboko says. “Perhaps our hosts- perhaps a competing team?”

“There’s a body out there! Blood everywhere. We should try to get out of this door- perhaps they are still alive.
Eboko tries to open the door with a pick from his thieves tools. (Not sure if he has this or if he left with the smith!)

“This sounds like a wise plan. Which way to the authorities? “ Eboko says. He kneels down to the woman and says a few quiet words, a prayer perhaps?
