Whistler gasped as the magic flowed over him, unaccustomed to the affect, then steeled himself, nodding to Randal in appreciation. Doing his best to evaluate the effect as he went, he drew a dagger from his person as he ran toward the same cluster of vines Case attacked, flinging the blade with renewed mental vigor as he sped up.
The weapon launched, he closed in and lunged with his shortsword, tumbling to disperse his momentum before rolling back to his feet on the other side. The warrior quickly assessed his handiwork, then glanced over the campsite, determined to blunt any attacks toward his companions.
FREE: Draw off-hand weapon (dagger) MOVE: Toward target vine cluster BONUS: Use Two-Weapon Fighting with Thrown Weapon Fighting Style to attack vines * Dagger Throw - Attack: 18, Piercing Damage: 3 MOVE: Into melee with target vines ACTION: Attack vines with shortsword * Shortsword Stab - Attack: 6, Piercing Damage: 8 MOVE: To opposite side of vines (not leaving melee; this is mostly dramatic effect) EXTRA: Enhancing first strike that lands, with Psionic Strike - 3 extra force damage REACTION: The first party member (incl. Whistler) to take damage will cause Whistler to use Protective Field, reducing the damage by 7

Starting at 1st level, you can invoke the power of law to embolden an ally to attack. If you cast a spell with a spell slot of 1st level or higher and target an ally with the spell, that ally can use their reaction immediately after the spell to make one weapon attack against a creature of your choice that you can see.
If the spell targets more than one ally, you choose the ally who can make the attack.
Gear presents himself as a target for attack, hoping it keeps Randal safe.

Finished!
The cluster of vines quickly straightened as Whistler swung his blade to attack them and then moved very close to him preventing to swing with enough force to actually damage them.
(( Whistler will not be able to make use of Protective Field this turn. ))
Gear's blessing helped Whistler to focus and he immediately notices an opening in the cluster showing a bigger and plumper vine, he cuts through it and it splurts a squirt of redish/green heavy liquid.

The VDS having Whistler in range distract him with vines going high as if they would sprung to hit his face while the ones on the ground started climbing up his legs and start to press them as they move up. Attack: 22 Damage: 13 if it hits you'll be restrained in your turn you'd be able to escape with an athletics DC 14 check
The other cluster of vines will move 5 ft closer to the camp (5 ft away now) and they inject their vines to the ground, a couple of seconds later roots and vegatation in a 15-foot square within 30 feet of them start to move and attempt to creep on everyone who was sleeping. These plants turn the ground in that area into difficult terrain. A creature in that area when the effect begins must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be restrained by entangling vines and roots.
A creature restrained by the plants can use its action to make a DC 13 Strength (Athletics) check, freeing itself on a successful check.
Azaka turns around and can be perceived very troubled with what's happening right now. She shouts to Whistler "Whistler! I'll try to distract them, get them out of here" - Pointing at the people next to her in the camp. She then walks slowly through the difficult terrain and attacks the VDB twice with her Yklwa.

Following Gear's lead, Arabelle also casts Bless on Azaka, Gear and herself (she will move if needed to be in range of each person). She then commands her Spiritual Weapon to continue attack Vine (VDS) Attack: 15 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll..
(edit: forgot bless for attack roll: 2. Also not quite sure why damage roll keeps messing up: 10)
Believing the crossbow bolt seemed to do little damage to the creature, Case decides to change tactics. He drops his crossbow to the floor and draws his longsword. He brings the sword across his front before taking hold of it in both hands.
He then moves closer to the cluster of vines before swinging his longsword at the creature.

Randall struggles against the vines, but ends up entangled. Noticing how Whistler had some difficulty hitting the creeping plants, he says: "Hero of old, inspire the new guard",causing a haze to float from his crystal ball towards the manto whisper unheard words of encouragement.
He then decides to more actively take part in the fight. After choosing a spot where he can harm as many of the vines as he can without hitting anyone on his new team, he casts: "Bold pure heart shattered by thunder, repay your fate on my foe." On his chosen area, a see-through form of a knight appears, quickly taken away by a strike of phantom lightning, that leaves behind an intense sound, blown ground, and blasted vines.
Bonus Action: give Bardic Inspiration (d6) to Whistler.
Once during the next 10 minutes, you can add the d6 to an attack roll, a saving throw, or an ability check. This can be done after seeing the roll, but before knowing the outcome.
Action: cast Shatter, trying to aim it so as many vines as possible but no allies are in the area. DC 13 CON save; 12 thunder damage, half if they save.

Feeling another magical surge, Whistler drew another dagger from his person, and again lashed out at the vines near him.
