Lanky nods to Lucas “I will do my best to get rid of whatever ails the town.” Lanky snort laughs as Gabin spits out his drink. “Ah sorry. Erm it is an aquired taste. It’s best to start off with a lighter drink….I think. I’ll have some of the whiskey. Sorry…I haven’t been trained to um cleab those sort of spirits, heeeh.”
Landee looks at Gabin in shock with the whiskey dripping from his hair, down his face and all over his apron. “Um…” Is all the poor lad can get out. He grabs a new towel from behind the bar and does his best to mop up what he can. “Yes, I think you should stick with water.” He finally chokes out.
The bartender looks at Lanky with a bit of trepidation.. quite a bit more skittish now than he was before. “You can handle your spirits, correct sir?” Then he pours a new drink for the bugbear and hands it to him.
Moving the story on a bit, sorry if you’re not ready - hard to tell with the holidays and such…
After finishing your drinks and stew, you realize the sun is about to go down and out the window some of the merchants are packing up shop though most are just putting out lanterns. You all get up to leave, the bartender tells you that Lukas is happy to have you stay here if you’d like seeing that heading up the mountain would be best starting in the daylight. “Oh, and just so you all are aware, there is only one bathtub in the place, so you have to reserve it ahead of time.”
As you all head out to check out the town, you see the florist that Lukas mentioned as well as other shops littering the area.
(Been thinking about the whole shopping for items/spells, if you’d rather just let me know what you plan on purchasing in the OOC thread instead of through roleplaying I’m totally fine with that, let me know what you’d prefer.)
”I can handle them.” He thinks to himself,At the very least more so than Gabin.Lanky holds the part that he is a lightweight to himself. He sips on the wiskey to enjoy the full flavor of it.
Gabin apologizes to Landee once again and gathers his cloak about him to head out into the approaching dark with the others. "Surely that must be the florist Lukas mentioned," Gabin says, gesturing over to the aforementioned floral shopkeeper.
Gabin walks over and gets her attention. "Excuse, sorry to bother you at this late hour, but are you Astra? If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to ask you a couple of questions about..." He looks around conspiratorially, "... Vermeillon."
Lanky will go with E'lar to look for various arms. "So um...is there a particular weapon you prefer? Or um style of combat? Um if we are working together, knowing what we can do may help us out tactically. I like to use melee weapons, especially polearms. I like um using my natural reach and the weapon's reach to my advantage. And um I have learned some spells that can help against many things but the focus is against spirits."
Lanky looks to the shopkeeper "Um I'd like to look at your halberds, please...if you don't mind."
Elirion listens to the conversation amongst the others, her expression neutral. The words of the short-lived were rarely of interest of themselves, but usually offered some insight into the way they would approach problems. She sighs as they leave, confused by the turn of events but not surprised. So few things in the world make sense at first, only only with time and careful study can one gain understanding.
Once the room is empty, she shrugs and follows. Outside, she pauses to take in the scene and notices the priest in conversation with the flower-seller. She idly examines the flowers with a mild look of distaste. Short-lived people with short-lived indulgences. Better to plant a garden, than pull it up.
Turning away from the flowers she nods to them both, waiting quietly for a response to the priest's question.
To Astra After Gabin is finished gabbin’, she’ll say, “and I have a question too...” and lean in close and whisper conspiratorially, “...how much for the big daisy?”
As E’lar and Lanky head to the arms shopkeeper he at first cannot find his tongue as he sees the large bugbear. Once he has recovered, he repeats what he hears, “Halberds, yes.” He continues to stare, but Lanky’s politeness brings him out of it and he composes himself again. “Yes, yes let’s see what I have” He finds one quite quickly and sets it on the counter, “I have a couple of these, they are 20 gold if you’re interested.”
While he lets Lanky look over the weapon, the shopkeeper turns his attention to E’lar. “Ah! Chain mail and a mace, yes. I see they are in new condition - not much use for these eh? I’ll give you 80 gold for the two items. We have a deal?” He looks To E’lar waiting for an answer.
The florist seems a bit in a daze when you find her, but perks up when she hears her name, “yes, I’m Astra, how can I.. Vermeillon? Why, other than my husband’s rambling about it, I haven’t heard that town’s name in, why decades! From someone else that is. Oh, I had such good memories from that place, it’s beautiful up there, you know? You’re on top of the world! And with that platinum mine? No one really wanted for anything, other than help traveling down the mountain!” She giggles a bit at this. She’s a half-elf well into her middle age with a very whistful look about her. Her happiness remembering the small town soon changes though as she recalls more, “But we had to leave after the nightmares.”
She turns to tastie, “Why a tiefling! I have a great friend that is as tiefling, how fun!” She leans closer when Tastie does, and tries to hold in the laugh when Tastie mentions her request. “A big one eh? I’ll be sure to find you the largest daisy I have” and gives her a wink.
”Um sorry do you have any that are magic? Or errr know anybody that sells them?” Lanky does his best to not be intimidating to the poor man.
“Oh, I am sorry but I do not sell any magic items here. And as for weapons, I am the only dealer that I know of. I do apologize.” He is very worried this is going to disappoint the bugbear and what that might mean for him…
Remi goes along on the shopping trip, listening the whole time for any other clues about Vermeillon and also for more clues about his traveling companions.
When they arrive, Remi is interested in trading his leather armor for some studded leather armor and a potion of healing as well.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Remi, as you arrive at the shop, he sees your armor and is happy as he has run out of good leather armor. “I’ll give you 10 gold for this leather, and that’ll make your new studded leather 35 gold, please. As for healing potion, I’ll have to see what I have in back”

The shopkeeper arrives with a couple of the potions, “How many would you like?”
Remi smiles, pleased. “Two please. Thank you!” He takes off the leather armor and puts on the studded leather, takes the shovel and rope and the 2 potions. He puts 147 gp on the counter.
Lanky nods to Lucas “I will do my best to get rid of whatever ails the town.”

E'lar reserves a room and heads out to find someone selling arms and armor. He'll stick with the others as he's able.

E'lar lets Lanky do their business with the arms merchant before pulling out a set of chain mail and a mace, plunking them down.
"I'm selling."
After, he'll look for someone selling jewelry, or perhaps alchemical or clerical reagents, and see if they have powdered silver available.
