Remi looks up and says “Hah! Yeah. Got ‘em when I was younger and full of piss and vinegar. Didn’t get out of line until after I sobered up. They work well when I want to … make an impression… on someone. Right?” Remi gives the store manager a wink and turns his back, putting on his armor, pulls his cloak over his arms.
As Tastie walks up to the shopkeeper and asks for her items, he gives her a big smile as he hasn’t had this much business in quite awhile! “Crossbow, bolts, darts, couple of healing potions and smoking supplies.. well, I’ll see what I have. I do know these are my last healing potions,” and he sets what he has on the counter. Then starts rummaging around looking for the other items. “Ah, I think I have what you need, here’s the light crossbow with 20 bolts, and I’ll throw in a couple darts as well. Total for this would be 126 gold.”
Lanky sheepishly looks at the storekeeper. "Um...okay I'll try to find some elsewhere. Ah....um a healing potion for me too if you have more....if you don't mind."
Lanky will pay for the healing potion and puts it on his belt, if he has any left. He then turns to the others, talking to them while following them. "So um...we are working together for Vermellion...right? So um....I think if we get in a fight it would be good to know what we can do for um better tactics and such? I'm more front lines and use my reach to my advantage... um I do have some magics focus mostly on vanquishing spirits..."

Tastie
"Oooh, good thinking! Well, I usually like to stand back and use my magicky stuff to hurt things...but only if they really deserve it! Like, if Lanky found some bad spirits and he promised me they were bad and everything, I could probably help him get revenge - I am pretty good at getting revenge. You know, it's what I like doing the best? Ooh, if I find those Drows who took my dad, I would totally get some revenge on them. Hey, did you know there is a god of revenge? Yeah, they talk to me sometimes. He says I'm really going to good at revenge - isn't that super nice of him?! Anyways, he helped me find this cool spear - it tells me when something bad is near me. Oooh, I can also shoot things with this bolt shooter that I just bought. So I will probably be be behind you edgy mysterious folks - BUT I do know a spell if you get hurt - my father taught me that one. Let's hope we don't need that one, huh?"
As you all are enjoying the peaceful evening and getting your shopping done, the area is ambushed with bandits! The captain heads to the middle area and shouts, “Alright boys, you know what to do!”
The townsfolk duck and hide wherever they can basically leaving all out in the open as the bandits circle the area weapons drawn..
(Going to attempt a quick map and see how it goes, then I’ll get initiative rolled)
Bandit A moves closer to Tastie and E'lar, pulls out his crossbow and aims at Tastie
Attack: 17 Damage: 9
Bandit D stays where he is, also pulls out his crossbow and aims at Elirion
Attack: 15 Damage: 5
Bandit E moves over to the side, keeping behind some boxes for half cover and fires his crossbow at Gabin
Attack: 14 Damage: 3
Two bolts strike true as the new comers to the village were not ready for attack in the middle of town. But Elirion was able to get her magical shield up and deflect the one aimed at her.
(Sorry, realized I had numbered the bandits instead of lettering them, I know rookie mistake.)
Elirion is up! Tastie and more bandits are next...

As the bolt flies towards her, a shimmering shield appears around Elirion and deflects it into the nearby crates. Her gaze settles on "D" and she launches an arrow of her own before moving southwest of <<Green E>>, and crouching behind the table, trying to take in the situation.
Reaction: Shield Action: Bow: 12 Damage: 6 Move: Hex SW of Green E, crouching behing tables, trying to work out where everyone is.

Elirion's arrow flies through the air towards Bandit D and it hits him in the upper shoulder. He swears and stares her down.
Bandit C stays where he is aims his crossbow at Gabin as well
Attack: 17 Damage: 7
Bandit H moves behind a couple of boxes for half cover and sends his bolt towards Lanky
Attack: 23 Damage: 9
Bandit I moves a step closer and aims his crossbow at Remi
Attack: 10 Damage: 2
While Gabin is busy warning the florist and getting the first shot, he didn't see bandit C and got hit in the back with the bolt. The other two bolts go wide as the rest of the team are adjusting to the situation. (Not sure what happened, but only the first attack hit and it was 6 damage. Everytime I'm editing it is changing the rolls)
Tastie is up! Then another round of the bandits...
Remi is startled by this sudden attack, considering his next move, while he is starting to act he looks at the bandits, tries to ascertain, Where did they come from, what are they after? Is this a regular occurance in this town? To any locals that are nearby he shouts out “Have you seen these guys before? Why are they here of all places?”

No one answers or even looks up at you for that matter, they are trying their best to keep hidden from the bandits.
Bandit H turns to hide behind some boxes for cover and as he does so, Lanky pierces him right above the kidney. The bandit turns back and snarls at him, blood flowing freely from his wound.

Tastie
Tastie's spear (spear of warning, her magic item) on her back starts vibrating, warning her of danger, but she isn't quick enough to shout the warning to her companions. She steps back in alarm as Bandit A's bolt catches her, "Owwwww!" she yells. Her eyes turn on Bandit A and her eyes begin to leak smoke. She points a slightly clawed finger at Bandit A and choking out a guttural word. Flames begin to lick around his torso: hellish rebuke in reaction: Bandit A should make a dexterity saving throw. Take 10 fire damage on a fail, or half on a success (DC 13).
Ripping the bolt from her shoulder, Tastie sizes up the situation. She uses her action to take a pinch of a gooey substance from a pouch, barks a sharp syllable, clenching her fist. She turns invisibility and moves carefully and quietly north and west, towards the cart.
E'lar nods at the offered price, and slips the 80 gold into his pouch.
He'll tarry for Lanky and Remi to conclude their purchases.

When Lanky awkwardly inquires again about combat readiness, E'lar expands on his previous club patting.
"I'm a Warden of the Wild. Club is my weapon. I can also call on natural magics."

Yes he was, go ahead and attack.
