Meriele rides a short distance ahead of the others, her eyes glowing as she watches the men hiding in the bushes and on top of the varies ridges. She stops just at the edge of easy crossbow range, and, sitting tall on the horse, draws her sword, flashing it in the sun. Then she twists to point it at each hiding place in turn, clearly pointing out where each bandit is hiding. "My companions and I see where each of you has hidden. Beware, if you mean to attack us, for we are touched by other worlds. We have no quarrel with you; we ride to save Duvik's Pass. Show yourselves in honest greeting, and we will not harm you, or flee while you still have time and limb!"

A bedraggled looking human stands up from the bushes on the south side of the rode with a dagger in each hand.
"Twouldn't be accurate to say we want know trouble, seeing as how we've been paid to cause you trouble...but the order didn't indicate that there were so many of you or that you were well armed yerselves. He definitely seems shaken by your threat, so shaken that he can't even come up with a pretext for lying in wait to ambush you...but the way he persists makes you think that coming back without attempting to complete the mission is just as dangerous as attacking you.
"I do not see it necessary to pay you for protection, when we are quite capable of defending ourselves," Meriele says, "but we might see fit to pay you for information. Who sent you? What are the terms of your contract to, as you say, cause us trouble?"
Daveth will set quietly by her side as she speaks, looking the thugs with an irritated glare. He will stay quiet unless they look as if they will begin to attack.

Friar Giles sits on his horse towards the rear, smiling at the bandits, in a happy go lucky way, but also an undertone of a dare. His right hand comes down and rests in the butt of the stock of his crossbow. He looks to the periphery spotting the other bandits who are in hiding, watching their reactions as this plays out.

"Some would say I am not something for the faint of heart to see," Ellara points out. "But I don't think anyone here is faint of heart."
Friar Giles nods assent, staying silent and rides at the back of the procession, looking to spur his horse on at the sign of any trouble.

Daveth follows behind her, focusing still as he prepares to unleash his transformation if the individuals seem ready to attack them.
