I am looking to run through Unwelcome Spirits with 3-4 players who don't mind a GM who can only post a couple times a day. New players are welcome and encouraged! If all goes well, we will carry on through Call of the Netherdeep, so keep that in mind while making characters. Plan to start next week. This will only be open three days at most. Please do not PM me character forms! If it's clear you haven't read this post, you won't be picked.
What I expect:
Some usage of grammar and narrative in the 3rd person as you describe what your character is doing. It does not have to be long, but do try to give it some flavor.
Patience. I have two jobs. I will post everyday, but it may be at different times.
Respect for me and each other. Remember you are playing a cooperative game and your fellow players are people with feelings.
Absolutely no homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism, etc. It doesn't exist in my game worlds.

Backstory: Rudy is the oldest of six, his other siblings are Bun, Cory, Francis, Travis, and Sam. When he was just 10 he saw a strange man come into the house and butcher his parents. He had to protect his siblings so he ran quietly and grab his siblings and usher them out of the house. He knew he needed something to distract the killer away from his family. That was when he found out of his magical inclinations, and made a scream away from the killer and he ran away as far away from him as possible.
Once Rudy and his siblings were in the woods, Rudy and the older siblings Francis and Sam started to build a makeshift shelter, while Cory went to gather berries with Bun. Since his parents died, Rudy had to take the role of caretaker, which was harder to do outside of the city. He had to toil the soil. One day he had a vision of a war that went on. He told his siblings that he needs to prevent the war at all costs. Bun and Cory were old enough to take care of themselves and help around the house more, but still he fears that living them was the worst decision. Rudy marched on into the woods when he was attacked by wolves and saved by a mysterious stranger. This stranger had silvery eyes and jet black wings. Rudy thanked him and went along his way to help stop the war.

Backstory: Zekdyn was born the son of soldiers in the Krynn army, and quickly orphaned after a skirmish with the Dwendalian Empire went badly. He is a young man, not quite an adult really, and looking to put distance between himself and the ongoing conflict. He went south with an expedition investigating rumors of a site where a piece of the Luxon used to reside. During the expedition, he listened and learned well from the true scholars as an assistant. One of the scholars uncovered a room - large, and empty except for a highly stylized standing coffin. The creature that came out of the coffin was horrid, and seized them both with magic beyond the merely mortal, speaking a horrid dead language. He has little memory of what occurred after that, but it was days later before he awoke back in the camp. The camp was in flames, and his fellow captive was being stabbed by a woman Zekdyn didn’t recognize. She then robbed him, removing a strange amulet with a ruby in its center.
Zekdyn ran, like many others. It wasn’t until he stopped that he discovered a similar amulet in his own belongings. When he holds it, he hears the creature from the tomb… singing.

Name: Raaksha Race: Ravenite Dragonborn (Blue) Class: Ranger Backstory: Raaksha’s family left Draconia to avoid persecution three decades ago, prior to it’s destruction. They wandered the wastes and came upon Asarius, City of Beasts, where they settled. They made a place for themselves in the city providing leather goods, becoming quite respectable. Raaksha was born in Asarius and followed along with the family business, becoming a hunter and roaming far into the wastes surrounding the city.

Backstory: Born among the merchant class of Uthodurn on the Volition Disk. Juniper was always a studious child and seemed to have a talent for the magical arts. She knows that her Mother had an affair and that her Sister is her half-sister...Mother is desperate to keep this secret. Her younger sister, Tilli, practically hero worships her...and she loves her in return and would never tell her about her father. When she began her studies at the Vellum Steeple under Mistress Ressia Uvesic she met fellow student Syndani Veliir and fell deeply in love, they had a torrid love affair but Juniper panicked at the depth of feeling and left before finishing her studies at the Vellum Steeple. Syndani was deeply hurt and is in pursuit using secrets from a fell tome she found in one of the Vellum Steeples backrooms. It is also possible that Syndani is also in pursuit of the map that the two of them found in one of their dives into the stacks...Juniper unknowingly shoved it into a sidepocket of her pack as she rushed off. She is addicted to Elfmash and will buy and consume it whenever she sees it for sale. She saw an enormous bird soaring through the clouds as she fled Uthodurn, but it let her be and she hurried on finally finding herself in Xhorhas, penniless and desperate. Any Prophecies I leave to the GMs discretion.
Greying Wildlands (choose either the Tribes of Shadycreek Run or Uthodurn); I'd like to be from Uthodurn but really from Shadycreek Run (ie. passing myself off as an elf from the former but actually from the latter). Edit: OK, may need to rethink this, it's too hard to work in to character. Guild Artisan. I would like to choose Alchemists and Apothecaries to build into backstory, and make the following choices: - I always want to know how things work and what makes people tick. - Freedom. Everyone should be free to pursue his or her own livelihood. (Chaotic) - I will get revenge on the evil forces that destroyed my place of business and ruined my livelihood - I would kill to acquire a noble title.

Thoughts so far: Foundling that came to the attention of a childless wizard in Shadycreek Run, who took them. Started to learn the arcane arts and in the process learned that the wizard was becoming obsessed wit the powers of a changeling. Eventually, those same arts allowed them to learn that their adoptive father was planning to steal their powers ("it's for your own good; you will be able to fit in, child"). If they only knew one thing, it was that their nature was an integral part of who they were, so they fled to the only safe place they could imagine: Uthodurn, where they could use their abilities to blend in, and their father would have difficulty following. Their mother has no idea why they left, but he clung to the knowlegde that his father's journal spoke of the existence of others like himself.

She had a stable home life, but set off seeking to see the world, get inspiration for new inventions, and make a difference.

Background: Hunturlorian has lived a life on the sea and now searches for something else. What he once thought was his calling, that being sailing the sea, finds out that the sea is not calling his name. With sailing the sea, he grew a reputation of destruction and chaos depending on where he goes.
