"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
The fire bolt hits the wet hide of the giant croc with a sizzle.
From all around you, you notice the rush of movement through the shallow water and discern a swarm of snakes (they share initiative with the croc, who still lives.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Again?! These stupid creatures of all things?!" Randy groans as he steps 5ft back behind the group.

The croc takes both hits from the warlock, but he snakes slither away before being struck. The croc opens its jaws wide and let's out a reptilian growl.
<that's her whole turn. The snakes and croc are out. As a reminder dialogue is "free" so, if you wanted to talk to the half-dragon before taking an action, you can do so.>
<We're back at the top of the initiative. Not sure if i was clear on how I run initiative, but you don't have to wait for anyone at this point (Clarification: because you all rolled above the target). I like this "side initiative" style becasue it makes pbp faster and allows you to benefit from one another's actions strategically, (if anyone is familiar with the fastball special, which Ethan's eldritch blasts have called to mind, that would be a good example,) while the addition of the formulaic target initiative keeps the side initiative from nerfing player's investment into initiative boosts.
I am being deliberatley vague about whether the crocodile survived or not, pending how you fare with the half-dragon.>
"Give us one good reason why we should listen to you and turn back!" Randy defiantly replies to the half-dragon as his grasp on his cannon remains firm.

ooc: are we in a boat or are we walking? I assumed we took the boat again.
<Theoretically, it's up to you. I actually live in an environment like this and for much of it, it's sort of "take your pick". Like, if there's crocodiles, I'd take the boat, but the water only comes about knee to waist high except where it courses, which is to say, when you reach a river or stream, so overall I'd suggest using the boat you acquired, but then again, if you get attacked, you're all bunched up, so maybe you'd rather go on foot. Sam's a big old reptile, someone's a simic hybrid. You'd probably walk, er swim? Anyhow, if I thought it important mechanically, I'd have definitely put up a battle map. And I can confidently assert, irl, these conditions do not preclude swarms of snakes.>
"Give us one good reason why we should listen to you and turn back!" Randy defiantly replies to the half-dragon as his grasp on his cannon remains firm.
The half-dragon scoffs at Randy's impudence:
"What, then? You think you're the first lot the hags have sent along to get free of their debt to my father? Funny how they balk at the idea of serving a more powerful creature while keeping that wee goblin of theirs, isn't it? I'll say this: you've held up better than the last batch of poppets they sent my way, odd looking orcs, they were. Now, leave this place or your body will rot in the mud and become food for the crocodiles!"
