Ethan also can't see the monster under the water despite getting up close. For now he will Hold his attack. If the monster does show up or try to attack him at close range, he will retaliate back with 2 brutal swings. If the monster attacks from long range, he will fire his usual three baseballs at it.
BA: If it isn't 1 hour, Ethan will instantly place Hex on the monster without expending a spell slot.

Trisk stands at the edge of the water, without stepping in, and see bits of the monster above the water's surface, hurling a spell at it, but missing the intended target.
(The area being flooded would mean Oli is swimming forward, meaning a DC18 con save x poison, etc., as noted above.)
<I'm not trying to make visibility an issue here, just saying it's dim, because it's a sewer and the monsters ability makes it lightly obscured. Other than being behind a wall, an impediment removed by simply mov8ng forward, I see no reason to not have eyes on the monster. Is it because there's no light? It's probably night which is why it's raining and therefore the storm water is flowing in from thise three openings at the top of the map, so not much light from overhead even if it was a straight shot. I would say the radiant fireball sheds enough light to illuminate the monsters, and so depending on placement, and because I think actions on the same side of monster initiative can resolve simultaneously if players wish, you could see it at that moment if you are in line of sight.>
(Does anybody want to retcon and try to obtain some magical / nonmagical lights ounce or announce one in use, since it seems to be an issue?)
Based on these positions, nobody but Dam has ro make rhe con save at this time. If that works for everyone. (Sorry, forgot to move Randy: imagine he's somewhere up there with Ethan, Oli and Sam).
In response to the chaos bolt Randy launched, the farther monster scans the water's edge for the source of the magical.atrack and finds Ethan, hurling another grasping spout (up to 60ft) trying to pull him toward itself. DC22 Str save, success triggers the EBs noted above.
"WHAT THE-?!" Before Ethan could react, a sudden force catches him off guard and tosses him into the murky waters below. "Damn it! There's two of-" *Falls into the water*
CON Save for the poisoned water: 18
(Is he able to resort to melee attacks as he gets pulled in or does he need to wait? And also, Randy's armour should be emitting light at the moment)
If allowed, I will retcon Trisk's turn and have him light a torch.

It's demonically corrupted water, an effect imposed by the monster
Corrupt Water. At the start of each of the monster's turns, exposed water within 30 feet of it is befouled. Underwater, this effect lightly obscures the area until a current clears it away. Water in containers remains corrupted until it evaporates.
A creature that consumes this foul water or swims in it must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw. On a successful save, the creature is immune to the foul water for 24 hours. On a failed save, the creature takes 14 (4d6) poison damage and is poisoned for 1 minute. At the end of this time, the poisoned creature must repeat the saving throw. On a failure, the creature takes 18 (4d8) poison damage and is poisoned until it finishes a long rest.
(Adding light to Randy now. Lots of light sources to keep track of.)
<Hold on. Save DC was 17, Ethan rolled 19, made the save and d8dnt need to make the con save, unless he jumps in to water for a swim (or drinks some). If he can get into range he can melee, but it sounded like he would EB in the event of a ranged attack, but it's fine either way.>
I see what I did, 22 was the acid damage number. But I posted it as the save DC. Sorry about that. Str save was intended as DC 17.

<ooc: I wanted to move Oli 10 feet towards Sam (from the corner, see below) and remain out of the water. My marker is no longer on the map so I can't move it (I thought I did last night but obviously didn't). Being a rogue, Oli should be in front to find traps and scout if he can. I was going to rely on blindsense at level 14 (next level) but that only has a 10 foot range and now I see he needs much more than that. I can switch feats when we level up (if you allow that) or now if you prefer to just get it over with.>
I made Oli's marker invisible, because he's hidden, so it shows up as faint when I screenshot. I guess I haven't posted a screenshot recently. I figured it would still be visible to the player if they claimed it. I had him right next to the other PCs that were attacked but I didn't attempt to perceive him. I guess we can use the 'hidden' status ring instead of hidden token attribute moving forward.
Being in front means being in water, which means make the Con save, but the marker isn't in front now. If you want to respect the character, go ahead and do so.
<loving this Chains of Asmodeus book. Some of you know this campaign started with Extra Life modules; Sam and Tetrevess joined those. There's new 9th level spells, magic items and it's built for teir 3 and 4. Highly recommend>
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Trisk is going to cast Chill Touch when he sees the monster again.
Attack: 23 Damage: 19 necrotic damage.

No action of any kind required for an arcana check to ID these things, btw. I suppose religion would also work.
