So, I've been thinking avoid how this combat is dragging a bit. Unfortunately a lot of the moves these guys have are control abilities so, they end up needing saves which really ruen the game. If anyone doesn't like the idea, let me know, but I'm thinking of just rolling the saves in these acrion stopping cases just to keep things moving. I think we're all using the same randomizer engine not real dice, so since since there was never really any agency in the save, I do t think it's a player satisfaction issue. I do worry rhst there could be a missed shield use or some potentially foefotten bonus like guidance or an equipment effect kr something, but most of thst should cone through on the cahracter sheet and it would be a definite retcon case. Whether or not to use a reaction spell slot after the fact us not so cut and dry. Thats why im gesitant to just roll PC saves to keep the action going. In this case (most cases) it doesnt matter, its either/or attack roll / saving throw but there are surely some cases where the text include "on a hit... make a DC ## XYZ save or ..." and those are the ones im most concerned about. Still, all of this seems trivial compared to the risk of disengagement, so i think I'm going to roll these saves and people can comment to me after the fact.>
FYI Using the rules for squeezing in the narrow canal tunnel, despite the actual morphology of this thing being very serpentine. This restriction would only effect Sam, who can also squeeze in this way, but the rukes on squeezing (see below) also grant AD to attackers. It has maguc resistance, so the DA from a Dex save vs magic would be a straight roll to save.
Squeezing into a Smaller Space
A creature can squeeze through a space that is large enough for a creature one size smaller than it. Thus, a Large creature can squeeze through a passage that's only 5 feet wide. While squeezing through a space, a creature must spend 1 extra foot for every foot it moves there, and it has disadvantage on attack rolls and Dexterity saving throws. Attack rolls against the creature have advantage while it's in the smaller space.
All PCs are up. I'd advise moving in your preferred order in thw narrow passage if you choose to follow directly. A fair amount if this map is known to you by accounts from your patron, but it won't include everything. If you csn see it in the Mao, your PC was made aware it's there. Fancy navigating might require a survival check, but not if you're following in the heels of the demon. Also, you too csn destroy walls to open passages marked in the map, but detecting them requires an active perception check. The base DC is 13 assuming adequate lighting fir the vision of the PC searching it. That's all moot if you just follow it.
All turns are at your discretion. Holding action for another PC us not required (ever) you csn just fo after them. A held action using only reaction fir movement or action (the standard case) only applies if waiting for an npc or environmental effect.

"We need to find a passage to get to the last monster... Everyone destroy the walls, preferably on different sides so that we can ambush it and save that guy! Ethan and Randy manage to find the spots where tbe water is flowing through grates under the surface and demolish sections of wall. Entering from adjacent corridors, they meet at an intersection.

Trisk will cast Dimension Door and teleport back to where the main cluster of the group is.
He will start to answer Tetrevess telepathically (purple) and finish answering verbally (blue) when he appears among his allies again.

Do you know which way is it heading? It's swimming through the water. With the sound of the water poring in from the streets above, echoing through the twisting corridors, it woukd be very hard indeed to hear it moving. It's scaly, not slimy and it's swimming. But you know where it was 6 seconds ago.

<Walls are static targets, no need for a roll to hit (regardless of what the dmg says; i know 3.5 made you roll, not truly certain if 5e does RAW) . If you're looking for a 'secret passage' (really just an archaic patchwork of rebuilt tunnels from different periods in the city's history) it would be a perception check, but I can apply the modifiers, and these are successful.>

Oli uses his action to dash, movement, and Cunning Action to dash to follow Randy and Ethan and move a little ahead of them to head off the demon.
