an elegantly dressed sun elf woman adorned with robes and understated neutral jewelry that highlights her bronze skin, approaches Angus cobfidenrly amid the mad panic of folks flowing the Meatgrinder. "Take my arm." She tells him quietly with a pleasant face and offers a crooked elbow, thst the pair may walk the streets arm in arm.
"We stay together, but don't look like we're together. Just act natural" she instructs.
If you willfully follow her plan, leads you to a four-apartment townhouse in the north of the city bear prominent landmarks. It sits three blocks form the Thayan Embassy.
Gravity is back out in the alley making a hasty escape... when someone grabs her by the shoulder from behind.
"Stop." A soft but strong female voice advises. Turning, Gravity sees a human woman of Turami descent. She has keen dark eyes, olive skin and dark hair she wears in a tight braid.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Angus seems a bit startled at finding at unexpected ally. He looks into the woman's eyes for a heartbeart, searching for signs of deception or hostile intent.
Insight 21
Assuming he finds none, he will take her arm, and signal the others to follow.
"No. The Ambassador is also looking for you because the warehouse burned down. Let's follow Angus and his new 'friend' for now."

Gravity is taken aback by the sudden appearance of the stranger. She hasn't expected that someone might have been waiting for her at this place. When she stops being surprised and manages to suppress her hyperactive tendency, she realizes the fact that the wolfbrothers are no longer attacking her like a bunch of rabid dog.
"So, you're telling me that I should stop protecting myself and surrender, right? Eh, let me go!" She barks at the woman and uses swiftstride reaction to move ten feet away from the woman.
Angus sees no ill in her intentions, but for an instant he thinks he sees a pin hidden just past the edge of her robe. Only a bit of it peeks out feom the folds of the fine fabric, but Angus suspects that it is the symbol of the Harpers.
To assume this subtle display of membership is merely chance or error would be foolish indeed. This woman acts with intent snd certainty. Thst you see it at all means she wants Angus to know of her affilitiation. A well-heeled elf arm in arm with a knight of Myth Drannor would not be particularly suspicious in the human dominated city.
"No. The Ambassador is also looking for you because the warehouse burned down. Let's follow Angus and his new 'friend' for now."

The townhouse lloks in disrepair as much if the city does, from the devastation csused the elementsl rifts. Inside the townhouse, however, the dsmsge, if there was much, has been repaired. The rooms are well lit with lanterns and candles. The sou ds of merchants selling their wares outside mingle with the constant cause of the seabirds, ever present in this proximity ot the harbor. As the day passes into evening, the taverns lining the wharf fill with patrons and alight with the sound of music and bawdy shanties. The smell of rot and offal punctuate crisp sea breezes.
An older Vassan (human) woman waits in the simply appointed living room. "We haven't much time. Let's get you started." co es the call of a familiar voice feom the adjoining room.
Seeing Angus among the lot, Morwena remarks sarcastically, "So this is what you call keeping a low profile?"
The Red Wizard looks to the elven woman and asks: "And what of Zehira?"
"No word. Perhaps she has been delayed." comes the reply.
"She's a big girl; she can handle herself. We haven't time to waste nor need for her to relay what they must know. Let us begin."
"I'll be just a moment, please proceed," the old woman announces as she leaves the room.
As she departs, Morwena begins: "Angus, ..." she pauses, eyeing Chadderlay, "Nephew, ..." she starts, then with a look to Samogri, "and your friend," turning back to Angus, "have all arrived in Mulmaster on a very important day. There is a courier. He is on his way to Thay and stopped at the Embassy in Mulmaster. I've been away, as you know, but have returned in secret to intercept this courier before he departs for Thay in two days."
"Nephew," Morwena says to Chadderlay, "I have tried to keep you from this, but it was always your destiny to become a Red Wizard, to travel West to this city, but I believe the choice lies with you now and I fear your decision. We have not been close. I am not sorry for that. I live a dangerous life and your proximity to me makes life that much more tenuous for you. But now you are here, by whatever force deigns it so, and you must decide. You well know, and you Angus may have heard, that Szazz Tam rules Thay as a warden rules his prison. We the guards maintain the cells and walls of our own confinement. After hundreds of years Tam has abolished slavery in Thay, to the joy of some and the scorn of others, but a nation of necromancy is never truly free. For even a slave may choose to rebel, to escape, or to face death, but an undead thrall has no such luxury and you know well, nephew that those undead are rarely made from the weak, the aged, the frail. Most are cut down in their prime, be it in service to Tam or 'Thay' as they might declare, or shortly after an affront to the Zulkir of Necromancy. THat is why I have joind D'arlon Ma and the separatists. But there is more. The end of slavery in Thay is just the beginning... an insidious threat lurks ever deeper. Szazz Tam's growing horde of thralls incrementally increase Thays power and thus their reach. That sphere of influence has allowed the embassy in Mulmaster to be the center of an occupation of the city, destroyed as it was by the great elemental near-cataclysm. The ambassador, Anuzohr Cherthemiud, has been conducting research into the elemental rifts, but not in an effort to seal them, rather in hopes of controlling the planar rifts. Chadderlay, I know how difficult this question comes, but I must ask it at length: will you join the rebellion and face the wrath of Szazz Tam for the good of Thay and all of Toril?"
"Would anyone care for a spot of ticklemint tea?" asks the old woman, returning from the kitchen.
"Why thank you, Ussa. That happens to be a personal favorite of mine. Yes I'll have a cup."
"Certainly, there we are." Ussa replies, filling Remallia's cup.
<Space to breather: Angus, Chadderlay, Sam - any of you can comment or ask questions. Remallia will continue shortly, her dialogue in the spoiler, just so we don't have to "go back" but I can already have it conveniently available and if you want you can read ahead.>

It is also where I learned of a threat ni the North - a Far Realm cult known as Tenebrous Creed. This cult, it seems, is somehow tied to the plans of the Red Wizards. The cult has sent the courier here. We hope to use this opportunity to learn what exactly the Red Wizards are doing at the excavation site around the elemental rift, which know is taking place, but among the several rifts in the city, we cannot yet say precisely where; all are well guarded by Thayan knights and watched over by Thayan eyes. We propose liberating from the Thayan embassy not just the ambassador's data from the elemental rifts, which will be carried hence to Thay, but two more items that will leave with the courier as well: The research of Kazit Gul collected in the the Far Realm cysts of the Doom Vault below Thaymount, and a mysterious magical sword.>

The elder evil the Tenebrous Creed or "Black Ice," as they are otherwise known, worship is very real and present here on Toril, and it was the High Magic of the Selu'taar of Myth Drannor that opened the gate to the Far Realm that brought that evil into our world.>
Morwena picks up the thread: "We've already exhausted our good will with the Blade of Justice. He may be eager to see his Hawks roost atop the city's high towers once more, but he still fears the eyes of the raven. If you need assistance, I suggest you try the Shadow Breeze. Subterfuge is their specialty and they have no love for Thayan occupiers."

<so far as anyone knows, Sam is very much alive and in the city. I'm not sure how you'll go about getting your stuff back, but you'll likely meet some resistance.>
Morwena: "As you well know Chadderlay, the embassy is heavily fortified. Thr old ilmatari temple is not a fortress but a frontal assault would be suicide. As the artifact is currently on site, access has been restricted, so access will not be granted easily. It may be easy enough for you to enter, but it may be better thst your presence goes unnoticed. I can supply you with one scroll of pass without trace, silence or dispel magic."
Remallia continues, "I am needed elsewhere. A portal out of town will be open shortly. Morwena will remain in the city, should you need anything. This mission is of the highest importance, but Morwena assures me you are more thns capable of liberating these items."
"Find me through the tailor Zerix Dral. I've let him know he shoukd expect you and he will send for me if you happen by his shop." Morwena notes. "At least let us know that you have a plan. Ussa and I are here to aid you. Don't let Tam get his hands on the artifact. We're counting on you."
