The room is bathed in glorious light, causing the Octopus to shine in its translucent brilliance and contract it muscles, putting the squeeze on Vars. You can tell it definitely didn’t like that instant brightness and those close enough to see watch as the internal globs move into a bundle near an orifice near its mouth.
The huge green eel that is Frangipani rushes forward to take a bite out of the cephalopod.
Attack: 16 Damage: 6
Frangi- eel swiftly takes advantage of the Octopuses situation and snags a bite off of one of its tentacles.
Vars being near the Octopus maw can see the huge bundle of shock orbs in the process of being expelled into the room. There isn’t that much space here and likely nobody will be able to avoid the globes.
Vars grimaces as the remaining air in his lungs is all but squeezed out by the octopus's tight grip. The image of Reginald's body flashes across his mind...there is no way he is going to go out like that. Yet, if those orbs are expelled...what are the chances that anyone else will survive?
He yanks his arrow out of the octopus's arm. He couldn't tell if the poison had any effect on it...but it didn't look like it did. He grits his teeth, realizing how bad this situation was... This was his fault wasn't it? He'd bought the stupid map. He'd insisted on coming into this blasted boat even though Frangipani and Lir had already searched it. He looks down into the darkness, realizing that his companions still had the skeletons to deal with too.
As the orbs move closer to the creatures's mouth, Vars adjusts his grip on the arrow. "I guess I'll die at sea even though I'm not a pirate anymore." He thinks bitterly, "But if that's the case, I'm taking you with me!" Grinning, he shoves the arrow into the opening and into the shock orbs.

Vars heroically jams the arrow into the first orb just as it is halfway out of the octopus body. The explosion of energy is immense, sending everyone backwards 10’. All the orbs explode inside the Octopus’s clear body doing 201 to the Octopus and Vars

as you battle the Skeletons you see an a blast of light come down through the hole in the ceiling, followed by Bjorn as he is pushed downwards from his position in the blast you could see all the colors of the currents that caused so much trouble getting to the ship, and then those colors fade. You sense the currents were magical and now are no more. The skeletons have the look of “ wtf” was that? Sparhawks Javelin slams home through one Skeleton and into the previously injured Skeleton #3 dropping them both into a heap of bones. All bones adversaries are dead

Lir emerges and casts cure wounds on Sparhawk, then guiding him up to the surviving party members. Death is not something he treats with any sentiment, now he's just focused on everyone living's survival.
The strobing light of the chained explosions outlines Bjorn's flailing body as he's thrown back into the cargo hold, crashing into some debris. He momentarily loses consciousness, but thanks to the potion, he's still breathing.
When he snaps awake, as a habit, he silently appraises his situation for a few moments before peeking up out of the rubble. Sparhawk hears the illusion of his voice from inches away. "Where's Vars, did he escape?"

( Query? Do the spheres count as creatures? Cos that'll change Frangipanis plan re. freezing them into a clump.)
