"This has to be an illusion. A tower this large would be easily visible from the road, and what's more, these doors don't make any sense at all."

Bjorn looks around the group. "I don't have the magic to undo what Abernath has done here. Anybody else? Otherwise... we could spend our whole lives climbing this damn staircase."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sparhawk considers Bjorns illusion idea, closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. He tries to use his perception to see reality: (or other roll if more appropriate) Perception: 14
"Well, looks normal enough to me. The imp warned to not go through the door or get lost. They did not say we could not open a door...." Sparhawk looks at the group.

What you perceive is that there are a ridiculous amount of stairs, you also remember how long it took Page to return.
( using sparhawks roll) you are resting on the 17th floor. Anyone looking out the windows at each floor will have noticed the changes in scenery. From ocean, to jungle to the mountains you got here by.
"Right, if everyone has caught their breath, let's keep heading up 10 more flights of stairs and see what we see." Sparhawk turns and starts the arduous task of continuing to climb. He keeps an eye on the lower left corner of the doors to see if he sees his mark again. 10 floors up, he will put another mark on the door in teh same place (S27^).
Lir attempts to assess if the tower itself is changing shape around them, growing larger, lengthening their journey.
Investigation: 12
As you investigate while climbing, you can tell the tower is not changing and is fixed, but it feels as though each level is in a different geographic location from the last. You determine you have crosses at least 3 different locales based on the sense of the nature outside the windows

Sparhawk does not see his previous mark and from this floor you can see a ceiling approximately another 10 floors up.
"Indeed, but this much ability to travel may come with a tremendous personal cost. Remember that Butterman fellow. Didn't he go crazy with the book?" He looks at the group, waiting for all to recover before they go in. "If I recall, Abernath set out to develop his own spell for teleportation instead of using that book."
Hearing Sparhawk wheeze and groan Frangiotter sits up and squeezes her white furred belly with her paws....then shrugs and decides biting his earlobe might give him some motivation...
Just as you are about to get to the door at the top level, and unexpected door opens up midway and a mid-height, but rotund human almost bumps right into you. From his greasy looking blond comb over hair and thick spectacles and dirty robe, you assume 5his must be that Ufeli character. Definitely has spent tooo much time hitting the books and not so much training for his body.
” Oh?! My…what you are you folks doing way up here? You took the stairs? You must be gluttons for punishment..you must be the ones here to see Master Abernath. “
He fidgets a bit, a little uncomfortable with all the armed strange people…
” Like I told Page, he has been out for weeks, maybe even a month! While it isn’t unusual for him to remain behin closed doors for lengthy time, even wizards have to eat and hasn’t summoned any food in all this time. Here is the key to his door….tell him the Imp sent you when you find him..”
he sort of giggles when he says that and has the grin of one who likes a good prank.
Sparhawk raises on eyebrow and has a slight smile, as his friend Lir seems to have found his "voice." He shakes his head at Ufeli and winks, as if to say, ("You don't want to mess with this one!"

"Hm. Guess it did take that page a while to arrive. What was his name again? Anyway, maybe the illusion is actually on the outside, hiding the tower."
Lir attempts to assess if the tower itself is changing shape around them, growing larger, lengthening their journey.

Eberk looks out the window to the new scenery. “He is a wizard. Who knows what all his arcane magic is capable of.”

As you pass by a window that faces Jungle, you think you see a giant lizard like beast amongst the thick jungle foliage
Sparhawk does not see his previous mark and from this floor you can see a ceiling approximately another 10 floors up.
"Almost there friends," Sparhawk huffs, even he with his level of fitness, being tested (probably the otter put him over the encumbrance limit).
I feel like we are going through the three areas we found towers in. I would guess from that lizard, Chult?"
"Seems like it. I wonder if the Brotherhood knows just how connected this guy is. Or was? Guess we'll see."

Lir grumbles to himself "Pfah - books! Evil things."

Lir leans down - perhaps looms - so his sharp teeth are fully on show above the short creature.
"Why not lead us to him yourself, little one?"
