Eberk takes a moment to speak to Zaal and the Baron. “Since we are nearing, I figured you should be made aware. Besides the alluring plants, we have also encountered dangerous vines and zombie creatures. We do not know what we may encounter inside.”

( the Baron is on the ship. )
you pull the boat over to the left shore in order to get out and investigate the cause of death of these primates. There are lots of tracks around the beasts of large birds, but the wounds seem like they are from claws, teeth or maybe steel weapons. A few of them have burn marks surrounding the wounds as well.
it is early evening and probably a good opportunity to camp and gather intel.
"With my Invisibility spell, two of us can prowl around, maybe find out what decided to come here since we left. Maybe someone can interview the local wildlife?"

"Noted," Zaal says wearily, eyes drifting to the bodies of the primates the others are investigating. He adjusts his 'blindfold' clearly bothered by the light of the sun. He steps towards the shadows, still eyeing the bodies.
"I would guess..." he pauses, glancing back towards the boat. "Another crew, though I don't understand why they would attack these animals. Then again, they could be undead, and perhaps were just lashing out." He shrugs, then adds, "I have little need of invisibility to hide my actions." He crosses his arms, "I am willing to scout if that's what is needed right now. I'll not be much use for communicating with the dead, or animals."
Sparhawk considers the interesting situation of the two distrustful men.
"Well, Bjorn and Zaal, why don't you take a look around while we prepare camp for the night. the rest of us will take watches until you return. Be careful. This is not our mission."
Sparhawk will set up camp. He'd like to visit the garden during the light of the day. He suspects the attacks were from some sort of dangerous reptile but is curious if Zaal and Bjorn can find anything and learn to trust each other over time.
Zaal nods wordlessly to Sparhawk before slinking off into the shadows to scout ahead.

Zaal:
While looking about you see 3 different, but similar plants that look like they could be one of the basic plants from your manual, but you cannot tell for sure if one of them or all of them are correct
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bjorn ritually casts Comprehend Languages, in case he needs to eavesdrop. Then Invisibility so he can freely walk the main paths while hidden. Stealth: 17
He sends the occasional Message Zaal's way. "Outsider perspective here. Do you get the impression anybody on the crew's a cannibal? Just idle curiosity." "I'd hope this goes without sayin', but if you see any suspicious paintings or some such, at least make sure someone's watching when you touch it, because it might be funny."

Zaal hesitates briefly, eyeing an assortment of plants in his path. His eyes narrow for a moment, then he scoops up the three of them and stuffs them in his pouch.
Lol, looks like he needs a plant ID manual... :'D. He'll take them and look them over again later, maybe there is a better description in the manual.
Then he starts moving again. Stealth: 22
He takes the Message in stride, without so much as blinking. "Are you always this chatty?" His mental response sounds just as dull as if he were voicing the answer aloud. "I am not one to jump to conclusions..." He sends a flat look in the warlock's general direction at the last comment. Perhaps he thought about responding, but instead he just shakes his head in dismissal.

"Cuts and burns, eh? What do we think -- another crew, or a dragon?"

“If we find a dead person, I can talk to them. Animals, not so much.”

Frangipani looked around for likely wildlife to interview.

She sees a pair of brightly colored birds with long tail feathers perched in a tree nearby

While searching around roll a 2nd investigation check dc 17
Label it with green lettering to separate it from the general investigation check.

(OOC: Lol XD)
Frangipani begins squawking at the birds asking them if they saw what killed the apes.
Persuasion- 13
The birds tell Frangipani, " tall birds punish they. Punished for steal special plants and defecating in sanctuary.. silly, silly monkeys people.."
Searching around you see lots of large bird tracks, maybe from something like a heron but a bit larger
Sparhawk looks at Frangipani, squaking away like a parrot and shakes his head. "You never cease to amaze me Frangi."
