Hello everyone. This isn't quite a recruitment post, but more so go gauge interest. I'm curious to see who'd be up for a Gravity Falls-inspired homebrew PBP game. I've seen different reddits and Twitter comments saying "Kids on Bikes works better for GF," and Kids on Bikes is a great game, but I think GF could also work in D&D. They made an episode based on the game.
The skinny is that the region is in the Feywild and there's a roadside attraction called the Gehe Teach that's essentially the Mystery Shack. There are artifacts, exhibits, and attractions for folks to enjoy, whether it's a noble fey, or someone who came from another plane.
Running the house is the hag Sylvia Magicmouth. Working at the Gehe Teach are her niece Christa, nephew Richter, the medusa Alundra, Bob the Pit Fiend, Del the "one-headed ettin," Artemis Longtooth the werewolf cook, and Lorlei the kenku/handywoman.
Gehe Teach is near the city of Mithrendain, also known as the Autumn City. All of the characters visited the Gehe Teach at some point in their youth. Maybe your parents stopped there on the way to visit one of the fey courts. Perhaps you got lost there. Maybe Sylvia is a distant relative - a Grauntie if you will - and you stayed there for a period of time.
Sylvia isn't evil like other hags, nor does she eat children. Worse, she makes you do chores.
Characters wouldn't be employees of the Gehe Teach unless they wanted to do. They could be wardens of the nearby forests or just big fans of the Gehe Teach.
Everyone would start at level 1 and all published races/linages and classes/subclasses are legal. Since it's the Feywild, I don't mind you using CR, Eberron, or any MTG setting materials. Some NPCs that are traditionally monsters will be friendly. The tone of the game is a mix of high fantasy with mystery and some horror.
Early adventures would be based on GF episodes, but as we continue, I'd throw in some homebrew ideas, as well as potentially looking at Celtic Myths and fairy stories/tales. I won't throw Bill Cipher at you, but you might run into a Gideon-inspired villain or other Funhouse mirror versions of characters.
Let me know what you're think and if you'd be interested. I'll probably delete this thread on Monday.

*Bruh, I would love to apply, but I'm on summer break right now, so posting would be extremely limited for me. It is amazing though, especially if people like GF, so I don't doubt you'll be able to find some good players.*

I would love to join a game of Dungeons, Dungeons and more Dungeons. It sounds like the perfect opportunity to try one of those races that does not fit really well in a typical Forgotten Realms campaign setting.
I'm not sure if this is a little late, but I think it sounds really cool. My only question is if it is beginner-friendly, since I've never really played dnd that much before.
I try and make my games beginner friendly as everyone starts, so this would be beginner friendly. We've already started and I've forgotten to delete this thread, but we do have one more spot open. If you'd like to join, let me know.

I don't like rp-heavy games, I LOVE them.
*Looks fun, may join if schedule allows.*

Funny...but odd...the kids started rewatching GF this very morning...lol
The idea looks wonderful, I already have some ideas for character and would totally like to join if you start this campaign.
I’d love to join, what level should characters be and is point buy allowed?
I’d also be interested in joining. What are the requirements for character creation.
I enjoy writing, roleplaying, watching TVs and movies, and playing video games!
