Cob watches wistfully as Sego moves the box out of his reach.
"If all is as you say, ambush is likely and your spy will have told whoever they work for how we're leaving the city," Cob says. "Perhaps we'd be better off finding our own way there."
Cob eyes the box a little longer, curiosity not greed filling his eyes.
"Granted we could just let Dvark here block out the sun in a mini-eclipse, and slip past everyone undetected."
Dvark laughs heartily "Im sure the Dusk Weaver would thank me kindly for it! But I agree with you on that one. We should if nothing else take a different train then you have booked for us."
Eyeing the box with a small hint of apprehension, Dvark continues
"especially if the legends are true about what's IN the box, we should use all precautions."

“Of course if it were me planning this, I would be quite visibly sending off a team to deliver an empty box as a diversion, whilst they send the real item a different way. Makes me wonder, are we a diversion?”, he says without looking at his comrades but eyeing Sego.
”I mean, if you can teleport the box back if it is tampered with, why not teleport it to Bast Trench?”, he asks trying to read the reaction of the older lady.
There is a little bit of pride mixed with a hint of approval in Sego's demeanor when Cob, Dvark, and Drexon don't immediately agree with her plan. She gives them a long look and a nod.
"Three teams have been sent ahead of time," Sego expands more. "You are the last team to be sent. This is not our first time transporting such delicate goods. We have covered all our bases. There is a team sent by ship. There is another sent by carriage. There is even another hidden as a simple package sent via an undercover postal agent. You are but one of many - the final team to be sent with the shortest amount of travel time. All teams have been timed to arrive at the exact same time in Erdelun, to ensure prompt delivery at the insistence of the Director himself. On the matter of teleporting it directly, it requires more extensive effort than you think. We will have to set up the relevant runic circles ahead of time, which we have not."
Drexon:
You get the feeling that Sego had embellished the fact that the box can teleport. You also get the feeling that the box can teleport, but to what extent is anyone's guess. In addition, as you look closer at Sego's body language when you mention the teleport, you can see that there are more things that Sego wants to say on the matter but doesn't.
While Drexon continues the line of questioning Cob started, Cob realizes he hasn't actually signed his paper yet.
A disembodied, slightly transparent hand materializes over top of the paper, reaches down, and signs on the line. The hand writes Cob's full name, Cobweb Goodfellow, with large flourishes without lifting the pen from the paper. When it finishes, the sound of a small song bird chirping twice accompanies the disappearance of the hand.
"Perhaps this is why we're meeting in a tea shop and not some where more official," Cob begins then pauses and smiles when he catches sight of his signature. "Drexon does make a good point. Are we the sacrificial lambs? I'm okay with that too. A free ticket to Bast Trench is a free ticket."
Cob stops when he realizes he's been speaking over Sego's reply, with a sheepish grin, he merely pushes his signed contract her way then stands and gathers his small pack and fiddle.
“It should go with whoever is most likely to survive an attack.” Eremoz gest towards Karn. “Smart guy seems like he is the most directly involved, maybe it’s good that he carry’s it for now. We adjust as needed.”
"That is to be determined, is it not?" Sego says to Cob. "Decoy or not, we hired people with potential. Professionals are quite easy to get, but most of the time they have a rigid sense of duty. This task requires a much more diverse skillset and room for flexibility. We hope you will not disappoint."
Sego goes quiet as she looks to a distance. She has chosen this place for a reason, and that is to allow her to see what occurs outside the shop with perfect clarity while keeping her guests' focus solely on her. Her demeanor turns grimmer and grimmer as she splits her attention between keeping an eye on the crowd outside the shop and listening to her guests' questions.
All of you notice Sego gazing sternly outside the shop and cannot help but look in the direction she is looking at. You do not quite see what she is seeing, but you begin to hear a slowly building panic from the people outside the shop.
Dvark looks over his shoulder and lightly places his hand on the hilt of his sword. "If things get tense please stay close to me. We're all in this together now. If anyone gets separated look for me at the train station."
Dvark stands up and casually slides the box towards Karm. "I agree with the Lion, keeping the box with our most official member is a good way to start"
Rising up to his full height and pulling his pack into his back, he followed Cob to the door.
Dvark, you try to see through the crowd, but the amount of bodies moving around is too dense to make out anything. You try to listen instead and begin to hear about a very ill-looking person being escorted forcefully out of the mall. You cannot hear further details from your place within the shop, but you get enough information from the passing shoppers to feel a sense of familiarity with how the sickness presents itself.

While the others focus on what is happening outside, Drexon stops shuffling his cards and leans slightly forward towards Sego, whispering a small incantation.
DM:
”You may as well tell me all of it, it is clear there is more you wish to share. You need not say it out loud”, he sends directly into her mind.
Bonus Action: Telepathic Speech (lasts 2 minutes and 4 miles apart) with Sego
Karm and Drexon, you try to do the same as the other, to move closer to the door and to listen, but Sego halts you from leaving the table.
"Listen closely," Sego says, grasping your arm to prevent you from joining the other. As you feel her hand on your skin, you begin to notice that there is something quite unnatural with Sego. Her face has that slight unnaturalness that you immediately know is a product of an illusion. For but a blink of an eye, you pierce through the illusory veil and saw the same face, but with a sapphire blue hair tumbling down her shoulder.
"I will tell this to you because you will understand," she says as she leans in close enough to whisper. "Four boxes have been sent, including this one, over various transportation methods. Each box is equipped with a runic array that will transport it back to Morgenstern Industry Headquarters here in Vortesso if it has been forcefully tampered with. Two have returned as of this afternoon. I have to stress the urgency of this delivery. If the other one fails to arrive in Bast Trench by tomorrow afternoon, your team will have to see this through to the end. The deadline is tomorrow afternoon at 12 sharp and no later or all is lost."
You have studied the arcane arts enough to know that certain spells and materials react differently under different celestial events. An alchemical ritual that is done under the light of a full moon can produce a much more potent concoction compared to any other day. Tomorrow is a day that is noted by spellcasters. It is the time when Niskala is at her closest to Sabitah and the potency of magic in the air increases slightly; it will not affect the spellcasters themselves, but certain rituals will increase in their potency when cast on that day.
Drexon:
As you connect your mind, you are immediately barraged with information. Most of it is random thoughts, but you see one particular image. You see two Sego, one with blue hair and another with green hair, standing in front of a crystal amber wall. Before you can inquire further, you hear a hiss within your mind. The connection quickly fizzles out. You see Sego grimacing and rubbing her forehead with a frown. She squints at Drexon with annoyance and a little bit of amusement, the first sign of open emotion you have noticed since meeting her, before her demeanor return to calm and collected.
Drexon closes his eyes a moment and takes a deep breath, managing to turn his focus away from the panic outside as he listens intently to Sego.
He throws Karm a questioning look, flicking his eyes towards Sego as if to ask, Did you see that too?
"Very well", he says to Sego, and stands up. He looks around the room at the others and his eyes alight on Cob, his winged form over at the doorway, suggesting it is time they leave.
"Cobweb, right? Are you able to be our eyes in the sky?", he says to the Fairy, whilst telepathically sending, "I will be with you for a couple of minutes, so you can let me know what you see".
"What do we think, the rest of us stick together?".
Eremoz stands up and stretches his shoulders. “We stick together. I’ll stay at the back of the group. Straight to the train station, no distractions.” He puts of his hood and heads towards the door.
Dvark's expression turns grave as he hears chatter about the sickness turning to the group he says "I think Drexon's got the right idea, If Cob stays in the air but close by that should keep us out of trouble. I say we move quickly but keep our composure for now. I guess that puts me in front then doesn't it?"
Cob listens to Sego's last warnings and immediately takes out a piece of paper, and jots down some notes.
"That has an act three written all over it," Cob says wistfully before coming back to the present.
He nods at Drexon, opens the door and proceeds to fly up above the crowd, out of reach of any that might grab but not so high as to bump any ceilings or to lose sight of his companions.
As easily distracted as he gets, he does his best to keep an eye out for danger lying ahead on the way to the train station.
