I'm sorry but I'm having a really hard time following this thread.
I have no idea where we are, who's there and what's going on.
You need to do more structuring. Call everyone out and reply with already completed actions for the encounter round, scenario round etc.
Like right now I think we're in a village and have been ordered by some king to go to some battlefield. Should I have read the Mines of Phalaver before starting this campaign to know what's what?
Also number everything - Like when a battle starts, number the enemies and have the current round in a header of every reply so we can all follow the timeline and initiative order.
This is just utter chaos and you'll have a very hard time getting people to commit to the adventure unless you present them with clear descriptions before asking what they want to do.
But on that note Roland the Ranger takes the long rest along with the rest of the fighting men and will march into battle.
I seem to remember we were hired as scouts for the 50 strong "army" although that's more like a platoon or half a company. Are we now supposed to fight as front line soldiers on a battlefield? What battlefield? How big is the ongoing/future battle? Are we to lead men or simply charge as cannon fodder? Against whom is the battle? What is the battle for? - Treasure? Revenge? Against an invader? As invaders? How far is it to the battlefield and are we supplied by this King? Who is the King? Who is this General? What do we know of this King? Is it an established Kingdom? Is he the unoppsed ruler? Does it matter? What are we to be paid upon completing his service? Who am I travelling with? Do we have horses? Do we need horses?
I think I should stop with the questions there - Way to many I think lol
But you get the point - I at least need better direction from you our DM and more structure so we can better plan our tactics and actions.
All questions are going to be answered in due time but with the need to know information goes as follows the general is a old paladin named Leon he is a fire genasi
The king is an old hero named Patrick he is one of the great ones that saved the world from being taken over by goblins once but he is too old to do the test again so he recruited you as soldiers
The front lines are about 2 days travel by foot one and a half days travel by horse and
The battlefield is a ruined town by the name of Sylvest and the portal leads to Sylvest which is currently under the control of humans and elves but is under constant siege of goblins and bug bears
If you have any more questions please ask but here's the last couple of things the king is unopposed who can stand up with a old hero that stopped goblins from taking over once you do not need her horses to travel there versus traveler and the battlefield is known as The last stand cuz it is where the goblins took their last stand in the first war have any more questions please feel free to ask
Now the general says "I understand you may have questions but here's the first I think you may all have you act as scouts or lookouts for this platoon but I think you've proved yourselves as faithful soldiers the King has faith in all of you do not worry Myrtle Beach serving as assassins and decoys for the army if anything fails you'll be able to prove yourselves as worthy soldiers as were your ancestors that fought in this war'
Ok will resume tomorrow

Hanzo meditates, welcomes the day. Then dons his armor and weapons, travel bags and heads to find something to eat before heading to the portal.
Alright what's everyone else doing

Hanzo nods, " I am ready to scout and be the advance guard."
