Hollow unbreakable arrows are the most OP common magic item, and my current method of coming up with insane combat shenanigans.
if you make a steel pipe with one end closed and a nozzle on the other, you can enlarge it, fill with any liquid, and then drop concentration, creating a high pressure squirt gun. (or a pipe bomb, depending if it holds)
The bartender turns to you all and says “If you wish to fight this beast you will need food and equipment, both of which the village will happily provide. Before you go I suggest you consult The Pastor, he is an expert in all things demonic and will most certainly have knowledge of how to defeat this creature.”

As you leave the tavern the patrons cheer. When you push through the oaken doors you are met by a small crowd of townsfolk, drawn to the tavern by The Bleeding Man’s screams. You push through them without incident and head towards the outskirts of town where you have been directed to find the pastor’s home.
(Time break)
The pastor’s cottage is alarmingly small given his importance to the village, but it’s steep shingled roof and well-pruned garden show the marking of a well-off man.
Set in the forest away from the village the cottage offers all the privacy someone could desire. According to the towns folk, he relishes the forest’s curtain, and is rarely seen in town beyond weekly prayers.
Coming out of the tavern, Ssliss'Thaar quickly pushed his way through the crowd, it's already too many people, too much attention for him. As they get closer and closer to the edge of the village, back to nature, to peace, Ssliss'Thaar becomes more and more calm.
Immediately after the Sparrowman knocked and said a few words, Ssliss'Thaar burst through the door without hesitation (assuming it wasn't locked).
"Ssliss'Thaar need help to kill something." - the lizardman hissed bluntly, not at all threatening.
Lespira joins the others, though quietly and keeping somewhat hidden in case something goes wrong. The tengu rests one hand on their shortsword, as they wait to see if this pastor is home.
The Sparrowman says, “ Yes, hello! Some hunters were recently attacked by automatons and we are going to investigate. We were told that you are the local expert on strange and demonic activity. We were hoping you might provide some information for stopping these metal men.”
"Yess, yess. As the Sparrowman said." - Ssliss'Thaar hissed, then he began to search the old man's house, as if this was perfectly natural and acceptable behavior. For Ssliss'Thaar, yes. He picked things up, looked closely, then put them back, smelled some, maybe even tasted something if he thought it was tasty and no one stopped his actions until then.

"Ssliss'Thaar thinks that everybody has to go. Only you, soft-skinned people know that thing. Easier to kill it with your help."
[And Ssliss'Thaar will be safer, if that thing wants to kill someone, the soft-skinneds are.. soft, and tasty.]
Ronin will also help defeat the constructs.

"Hmm, food? Ssliss'Thaar likes food. Let's go!"
It is settled then.

The Sparrowman walks up to the door and knocks on it. "Excuse me, we are looking for the pastor. There are dangerous creations about!"

An old man answers the door (or was about to until ot was burst open), he is draped in a white shawl and wears a grey cloak.
“Ahg!!! Oh, hello. What do you people need!”
his surprise turns into a fabricated smile, and he looks at the party past Ssliss'Thaar, trying his best to avoid looking him in the eyes.
