Nikolai scans the room for other passages. What exits are there?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
You see and Iron door directly in front of you, a wooden door to the right of that, an open archway just behind the sarcaphagus in the far-right with an iron door just beside that.
Also my bad, and read back through your description. Is there only 1 sarcophagus?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Talie and Tamba
As you turn to speak to The Scavenger you hear a slight scratching sound above you. You look up just in time to see a stalactite falling toward you and another falling toward Tamba.
SURPRISE ROUND
Attack: 7 Damage: 6 to Talie from the stalactite and Attack: 16 Damage: 5 to Tamba from the other stalactite. After the stalactites fall to the ground you see them begin to move. You are shocked to see them stand on tiny legs and hiss at you with large pincer line mandibles. Their appearance is eel like and they emit a grotesque smell, like old meat.

Tamba roars out a battle cry and takes up a defensive position between his comrades and the monsters. Though he is barely 5'6", he seems to make an impassable barrier.
"Let them come! They will not pass this point while I draw breath! Fire away, friends, and let them taste your arrows and magic!"
OOC: just for some clarification. Since we are doing a PbP I prefer to roll initiative once and let each side take a full round. In my original post I rolled for each of your parties, using their initiative mod and Nikolai's (as it is the highest of your party) It makes it easier to keep track of for me, and easier for you to post during your action. That way if someone misses a day or two (which is totally fine) You don't have to wait on baited breath to make your action. If you guys want to do a more traditional initiative we can look into that as well. Like I said, this is a pretty chill game and I don't get annoyed by much, haha.
That being said, under current rules, it is your party's turn!
Also, did that 17 hit Tamba?
Something else I like to do; If an attack hits, or misses, I like to let you narrate the events. I like that kind of back and forth story telling. If you guys aren't into it, just let me know, but I have had some really fun experiences in the past doing it.
Talie
You perform your incantation, being careful to follow all of the steps, but you feel as if it is ineffective. The creatures continue to hiss and snap at you with their terrifying mouths.

Tamba was not hit by the attack, as he was carrying his shield and has chain mail.
Tamba, a battle cry on his lips and a grim determination in his eyes, swings his mace with the fury of an avalanche at the nearest beast.
Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
So much for the avalanche. A good attack roll, but the crappiest damage roll possible under the circumstances.
The swing is true, but the mace connects with a tougher part of the beast, dealing minimal damage. Even so, Tamba feels a rush of victory surge through his being.
"The earth kami are with us! Come, my friends, let us cleanse the earth of these monstrosities!"

I'd also like to check the other sarcophagus.
I'll take the jewels and put the Eye patch on. Arg, look at me! I'm a pirate now! XD

Hey Scavenger, where do you suggest we go?

I have +2 to initiative 16+2
I have 19+3.

Nice! I'll cast [spell]sleep[/sleep] on the creatures

Oh my gosh....
I will go last in initiative. I had my shield raised, so the attack does not get past my AC of 18.

Uh oh.... they have more than 13 health each....
I'll run as far away from the creatures as I can.
OH I GET IT NOW!
There aren't 5 enemies, that was just their initiative roll....
Nikolai leaps at the stalagtite creatures. As they turn to face him, he shouts "Aaack! They have eyes!"
He attempts to plunge one of his shortsword into one of them.
Attack: 18 Damage: 6
As a bonus action, he'll stab another creature with his other sword.
Attack: 16 Damage: 1
If he has any movement left, he'll use as much of it as possible to move away from them.
