(Forgot to make 2 attacks last round. Here's another one unless it's too late. Eldritch blast: 28 Force: 8 Necrotic: 2 )
Feeling the winds gust hard, Etrigan descends and lands some 40 feet from the blood-red oozes, folding his wings. He swiftly places his hex on the closest glob (Hex, dex) before turning the black rod with purple veins against it, unleashing two beams of purple crackling force. "So let them come." He calls out confidently to the elephant man.
Your attacks are fierce and on point, splattering several more of the oozes across the soft muddy land around the Spire! Only the one Rohesia was smacking managed to hit back to her for 11 points of bludgeoning damage! But even as you manage to keep on dealing with the blood oozes another six oozes seep out of the ground at various points around you!
Before you can take action against yet another wave of blood, the rope tethering the zeppelin to the spire snaps, and you can hear Lorita yelling--"I'll come back for you! There's more of them! Hurry! Into the Spire! I'll make my way to you, I promise! But you must protect yourselves!"As the words leave Lorita's lips another hard gust of wind ruffles the half full bundled balloon keeping the zeppelin aloft, and you watch as the whole Imperius is swept up into the clouds. A sickening "glorp" sound heralds the arrival of even more oozes, slowly flowing towards you! It dawns on you that while the oozes are slow, the land is producing them and is only getting worse...
(Make an Investigation or Perception check to find a way into the Spire and escape the oozes!)

Realizing the futility of trying to fight off the endless waves of bloody oozes, Etrigan instead tries to find a way into the spire, hopfully escaping the infinite sea of globs slithering towards them.

The ooze continue to seep out of the ground as if an ocean of them live just beneath the surface and simply by standing here they are bubbling up.
-"I'll come back for you! There's more of them! Hurry! Into the Spire! I'll make my way to you, I promise! But you must protect yourselves!"
Behind him, the airship is taken aloft and his chance of retreat with it. With the only option left being to move forward, Daj tries to move quickly toward the spire, looking for someway into the structure and away from the ooze. Desperately, he dodges between them, realising that there are too many for him to continue to simply fight.
Watching the land continue to bleed ooze continuously it occurs to you that although the oozes are chasing you, they seem to be having a hard time moving towards the spire, almost as if some force was resisting the efforts. However, they are still moving towards you with no signs of really stopping, so looking towards the Spire you manage to glimpse a crack near the base, just big enough for each of you to go through one at a time. Getting closer to the crack you feel a rush of cool air flowing out, suggesting that it leads deeper underground.
(once you slip down...)
The crack in the obelisk's wall allows some daylight to filter into a triangle shaped room ending in a dark and narrow passageway. Stale, dead air permeates this tunnel, gently rushing past you and out of the obelisk through the crack in the structure, creating an unsettling breeze that carries the stench of decay. You can tell from this distance that a cave-in has collapsed most of the hallway here, with rubble blocking the path. To you immediate left is an archway that leads into pitch-black darkness. Along the arch, carved in a florid script that any dwarf could tell you would have been impossible to chisel into stone, is the phrase:"Those that fear truth's light shall be smote by it."

Etrigan quickly moves inside the spire, curious over what to find in there and certain that his master would be interested in the fate of the tiresome wizard that was supposed to be buried down there somewhere. He shudders as he reads the phase carved into the arch. "We better stick to the truth then, however boring and possibly dangerous that might be." He scoffs. "So, it looks like we're in this together now. How would you feel about taking point with that mighty hammer of yours Daj?" The demon says to the elephant man as he moves to cautiously examine the archway.

“Truth? Boring? Ha! In some cases that might be true, but I’ve found Truth to be much more entertaining than Lies a lot of the time.” Athyra says in response to Etrigan’s comment as she looks around.
"Exactly," Athyra answers, "If it hurts, it can't be boring. Can it? She smiles at the demon, "Not to mention, the truth is often stranger than fiction... or so they say."
"Yes, I suppose you are right Athyra."Etrigan says, giving more attention to the fascinating blue-skinned woman now. "Let us hope you aren't the one to get hurt by the truth then, or would you find that entertaining too?"
"That I am." She laughs, "And no, I'm not...usually. Entertaining? Maybe. Enjoyable? Probably not. Now, hurting enemies with the truth? Well, that's entertaining, and enjoyable."
"Well I will make sure to not make an enemy out you then Athyra." Etrigan chuckles. "However, when one has lived with as many lies as I have one cannot always tell what's the truth of it all sometimes. I fear I might be the one smoted by this light of truth, which would be a shame since I would hate to not see this through to the end with you now."
Athyra shrugs, “I’d be lying if I said I’ve always lived in truth. Anyone who says otherwise would be a liar.” She smiles, “I don’t think you have anything to fear. You just admitted you’ve lived with lies, having some truth around should be refreshing!” She pauses, “Perhaps you’ve been living to comfortably in these lies. Lies can become an addiction. They are like a drug, you start with one, and eventually end up with thousands and thousands until they smother you.” Her tone turns serious, “Trust me, I know from experience. A little truth might hurt at first, but it’s the only thing strong enough to break the chains lies put on you.” Shaking her head slightly as if to shake off a bad memory, she says, “But anyways! I’m glad I met you too! I’m sure between the four of us, we can sort out this mess. Now, where were we… Oh yes! The archway! I can scout ahead if you’d rather someone a bit quieter go first! …No offense Daj.”
The demon laughs heartily. "Quite an interesting view on something I do as easily as I breath. And I always found the lies so entertaining, shaping the world with my words. I suppose if you lie to hide something that you are ashamed of, that brings you guilt or remorse then the truth might set you free." He says, stepping closer to the blue-skinned woman. "Is that how it was with you Athyra?" He says, suddenly standing very close to her, his red glaring eyes studying Athyra intently for a moment before taking a step back again. "To me the lying was always a game of skill, and if my veil was pierced I simply had to start a new one somewhere else, although that was a rare occurrence."
"Be careful now Athyra, I would greatly miss our conversations if anything was to happen to you."The demon says with a grin.
Athyra grins, she seems unfazed by his closeness, "I do not deny that fact, sometimes a lie might be necessary. Especially when getting out of a sticky situation. And yes, lying can be fun. I can't deny that it is entertaining to see how far it can go. I'd be lying if I said I've never done that, In fact I do that frequently. However, I am mostly referring to living a lie. That, is something no one should do. When you get so caught up in your lies, that you start believing them. Then you have a major problem on your hands. And again, if someone was to reveal the truth of your lie, there is no way for you to escape it. So, it is better to just embrace it. A tower built with lies can all come crashing down when one speck of truth hits it, best not to be around when that happens... unless of course you want to watch the chaos that ensues."
"Oh, I'm always careful," Athyra winks as she grins back him.
