As everyone gets into the boats, Eku and Zee stand on the shore talking about something and pointing up the river. Eku nods and pushes the Skiff into the water before jumping on it as Zee jumps into the canoe and gives Khan a wicked grin.
The two guides set a mild pace as you row the boats. The sun is excessively hot today and the humidity makes you want to crawl into a deep dark hole and stay there. You spend the good portion of the morning and part of the afternoon rowing the boats and your arms and backs are sore from the troubles when you finally catch a break and the rivers current picks up and begins to pull you down the river.
Around two in the afternoon the clouds darken and the sky opens up. Hot heavy rain comes pouring down on you but it feels good compared to the sticky heat you had all day. Your rain catchers fill up rather quickly and Zee pulls the canoe over to the shore as Eku follows.
The rain is coming down hard and the two boats were beginning to fill up with water.
"We need to find shelter. This looks bad." Zee says as she scans the jungle.
"Follow me," Eku says as she dashes into the Jungle, not worrying about the boats.
Ahkmenos will look at Zee and laugh a little, Well played!
(During boat ride)
Ahkmenos will occasionally drink some water.
(When the group reach shore)
Ahkmenos will refill his water jugs. When he finished she notices the guides' worried faces and figures he could at least help them by tying up the boats for them.
After hearing their conversation Ahkmenos will quickly help get the chests out of the boat and then he'll grab his (with the help of Tap?) and walk over to Zee.
Should we follow Eku or do you want us to stay here with you?
Zachariah helps secure the boats and then refills his water jugs, drinking heavily while doing so. He absently rubs at his throat and subconsciously clears it often.
Eku and Zee look at each other for a moment after Tap sends the images of last nights events.
"That is a statue of Ubtao," Eku says and makes a small gesture with her hand and kisses her fingers towards the sky. "The great God of Chult. Giver of life, creator of dinosaurs, and lover of mazes. Has anyone solved the maze on his chest? Whenever you notice a maze carving it is most likely a sign from Ubtao and if you can solve the maze you are always rewarded for it, but if you fail. You will not like the consequences."
Zee makes the same gesture as Eku than nods in agreement with what Eku said. "I try and stay away from them. It is tempting to try solving the maze and be rewarded but I prefer to be alive than die in the jungle with my finger tracing through a maze. If I'm going to die I hope it is in combat against a mighty Tyrannosaurus or one of Ubtao's other creations."

Tome of Annihilation: Greggor - Level 1 Human (Variant) Fighter
As everyone follows Eku and Zee into the woods, it's like the heavens opened up and the rain is coming down thick. Visibility is so poor you can barely see the person in front of you and the rain is actually starting to hurt you as it hits your body.
The trees cover you partially but it still hurts. It takes about an hour of stumbling in the jungle before Eku ducks into a huge collection of trees that form a good amount of cover from the rain.
"Rains like this are dangerous in the jungle because when they stop the predators come out and hunt. We need to be careful and alert." Zee says as she shakes her head, water going everywhere.
"Aye," Eku says "we might not be able to continue down the river for a bit afterwards depending on if any trees fell or if the crocodiles are out hunting."
“Perhaps it could be vise to use de boats as shelter from dis veather. Ve vould need to drain anyvay. Vhy nut pull ashore ant use as lean to? Boat hull vould make fine shield against rain, yes?”
Greggor illustrates his idea by using his shield to shelter Eku from the driving rain.
Eku frowns at Greggor. "I'm guessing it would if you want to empty the boats and spend the time to do that. But if you do you make an easy snack for anything that comes out of the river. These creatures, the predators, don't care about the rain. This is when they hunt, when things are running and looking for shelter. How will you fight with all of us sitting on the ground? Plus we all wouldn't fit under it anyway."
“Greggor knows little of de gods. If Chul is de domain of dis diety, vill not prayers to other gods offend him?”
As you hunker down under the canopy of trees Zee looks over at Greggor.
"I heard what you said before. Ubtoa would not be offended if you prayed to other gods. He cares for his children here in Chult but knows the other gods may have their children running around in his jungle. He does not interfere with the affairs of the other gods. But don't disrespect him or you will feel his wrath."
Eku and Zee both make that hand gesture they did before.
Krav frowns.
"You saw what it did to Thor and me, right?" he asks.
However, the dwarf still follows Ahkmenos, though he stays back about 25 feet.
And that's all I have to say about that.
I think I got it right, check out the maze. Does it look legit?
Kaslo shrugs. "I spent about 20 minutes or so last night, in the dark copying it into my book. Mazes are pretty tricky to transcribe."
Ah, maybe I should listen to what Zee said...
Afterall, it really would suck if I actually died like that. I mean, we all saw what almost happened to Thor...
With that Ahkmenos finishes picking up and hops onto the skiff with Zee.
Ready to sail Captain!
Krav gets into the canoe and grabs an oar.
"Alright, then!"
And that's all I have to say about that.
