Hi everyone, looking for 4-6 players to run through the Forgotten Relics adventure and maybe more if the group meshes well! Ill keep this up for a few days before I select players. Everyone will be expected to post at least once a day, and if you are unable to post for a while due to real life things I expect to be notified.
I require you to have at least a decent grasp on what Eberron is (Jorphdan has a great series on YouTube), this includes things such as a basic knowledge of the houses, the nations of Khorvaire, the standing of the basic races and what the Last War was.
All character start at Level 1. All official options are allowed (including CR), although I will be mainly selected characters designed for Eberron.
Here I would like you to post a quick description of your character (a picture would be nice but not required), character name, and two rumors (one good one bad, neither have to be true) surrounding them.
Please DM me the following things
Race:
Class (Subclass):
Background:
One secret/debt your character has that they would do anything to keep or pay off:
Bonds/flaws/personality traits:
Nationality:
How your character feels about their nations participation in the Last War:
Excuse me, just one question: I have a decent grasp on what Eberron is, for I have played in an Eberron campaign in Pen&Paper D&D, but I don't own the digital books here on D&D Beyond; will you activate content sharing in the campaign (or will we have to rely only on content that we own)?
One secret/debt your character has that they would do anything to keep or pay off: My family took out a large debt on a failed merchant venture and now the debt is coming due.
Bonds/flaws/personality traits: I always want to know how things work and what makes people tick. I’m full of witty aphorisms and have a proverb for every occasion. Generosity. My talents were given to me so that I could use them to benefit the world. I will get revenge on the evil forces that destroyed my place of business and ruined my livelihood. I’m quick to assume that someone is trying to cheat me.
Nationality: Q'barra
How your character feels about their nations participation in the Last War: We were part of the refugees that came to Q'barra looking to settle.
Backstory: When I was but a baby my parents and others in our extended family came to Q'barra looking to have a fresh start. They settled in Newthrone and set up shop selling wooden and blacksmith metal tools. When we first arrived the guild offered to provide money for my family to start. Little did we know that it would be a life long debt. I hope someday to free us from it, which is why I have started adventuring.
Thinking of an Eccentric Noble Necromancer from Karrnath. Primrose has expressed support for advancing the Necromantic arts to allow actual Raise Dead, instead of just animating them.
I have some familiarity with Ebberon, from the wiki. I can usually post at least once a day, but find D&D Beyond easiest.
I'm interested and looking forward to play. Name: Gallo ir'Almieri
Race: Human
Class (Subclass): Warlock
Background: Noble
One secret/debt your character has that they would do anything to keep or pay off: I used the last of my savings to get access to House Phiarlan try to locate members of my family scattered by The Mourning, despite failing to find any it isn't long till House Phiarlan comes to collect their pay.
Bonds/flaws/personality traits: Nothing is more important to me than finding any trace of my family. However, with the time since The Mourning increasing and no sign of them, I have taken to the more carnal pleasures of life to find an escape. With this my bitterness towards life has increased, any insult or innocent jape towards me or my family is responded to with quick anger and violence followed a deep regret.
Nationality: Cyran
How your character feels about their nations participation in the Last War: A bitter regret that he was chasing glory on a battlefield far from home, when his family needed him. He has come to believe that Cyre's involvement despite being in the right was worthless.
Backstory: Born to a noble family in Metrol and raised on tales of his father's tales from the frontline of the Last War, Gallo was determined to follow in his patriarchs' footsteps and join the Cyran Army. Upon reaching enlisting age, he signed up and being the scion to the Almieri family he managed to work his way through the ranks into a leadership position easily enough where he served until being wounded. On his way back to Cyre for rest, Gallo witnessed The Mourning first hand being thrown unconscious and interacting with an impossible entity before waking up in a refugee camp armed with a new set of magical abilities. Since The Mourning, Gallo has spent every waking moment trying to locate any news about his family or find any heirloom to remind himself of them. https://ddb.ac/characters/85545556/RFRC2p
1. She's been vocal about using Necromancy to raise dead instead of animate them, or rewarding (?) volunteers by making them Reborn instead of zombies. Rumor that because of her activism she was driven out of Karrnath.
2. Because she prefers bright colors and a chipper attitude to the Grim Goth Necromancer style ("it's such a hurtful stereotype"). Rumor makes some underestimate her intelligence
Feeling about the last war. "It was such a waste of necromantic potential. Imagine if skilled necromancers could Revivify instead of Reanimate. But the war drove all the effort to reanimating instead of research. "
She'd do anything to: "Discover the secret...of Life! ITSELF!!! MWAH HA HA HA! Oh dear. Did I just laugh manaically out loud?"
(OOC: some points like last name left blank to match campaign. I figure distant noble so there's no abuse, but she'd work with a sage background if you don't want nobles. If possible, she'd have commissioned her spell focus rod to be the shaft of an umbrella.
This character will be looking to find/create spells that allow necromancers to heal and raise the dead. OR switch to a healing class later. It's an integral concept so let me know if that's not allowed, so I can make a new character)
Shield-9 is a Warforged Soldier (Fighter) who emerged from the Mists of the Mournland two years to the day after the Day of Mourning. He has no memory of anything that occurred before he stepped into the outside world.
Twin rumors have followed him ever since: that he knows the true source of the Mourning, and that he helped bring it to pass.
Lilci Cobblelob is a gnome rogue with the Dragonmark of Scribing on her arm. Some say that her family is facing financial ruin and have taken out a sizable life insurance policy on her. However, it only pays out if she dies under unusual circumstances, so Lilci was 'encouraged' to seek out more dangerous adventures. Some others say that this is Lilci's own fault - that she squandered her family's fortune and brought shame and ruin to the household!
He has dark green eyes, his hair became white after he killed many civilians and warriors in one night during The Last War. He is also covered in scars.
Race: Half elf.
Class: Barbarian (Path of the Berserker).
Background: Soldier.
One secret/debt your character has that they would do anything to keep or pay off:
He killed his best friend and brother in arms because he wanted to desert his nation during the war. He lied to his family saying that he died honorably. (For more details on this we can come up with something in private).
Also, during the war his squad was tasked to take over a heavily guarded civilian territory, but he didn't want to make his friends to carry such a horrendous and difficult mission. So he went alone one night and in the morning when his squad went to take the land, the land was empty of life except for Othanar covered in blood (his own and from others) and in complete silence with a traumatised look. No one knows how he did it and no one dared to ask.
Callon Othanar was born in the capital Aundair, Fairhaven, near the river as a normal Half-elf with his brother Urik before the Last War started. They both wanted to help the kingdom, Callon wanted to fight in the front lines, but Urik wanted something "more diplomatic and important" and parted ways when the war was at it's peak to enlist in their desired roles to help the kingdom. (Unbeknownst to Callon, Urik is now part of the Royal Eyes).
Callon quickly rose up in the ranks showing his natural skills in the battlefield alongside his sparring companion and bes friend Erben, fighting together for years. Unfortunately, one night Callon found Erben packing his items and aproached him, Callon asked him what was he doing only to find out that he wanted to desert his nation because "he couldn't bare the bloodshed anymore" and they started arguing. The discussion heated up (Callon wanting him to stay and Urik asking him to leave together) until Urik took his sword and attacked him out of desperation. Callon instinctively drew his axe and with a swift move killed him and hid his body in panic, and later that night remembering the fight he realised that he could've disarmed him without killing him
After that incident, Callon kept fighting in the war and rose to the title of Captain and was given a squad of soldiers to comand. One day his squad was tasked to take over a heavily guarded civilian territory, but he didn't want to make his friends to carry such a horrendous and difficult mission. So he went alone one night and in the morning when his squad went to take the land, the land was empty of life except for Othanar covered in blood (his own and from others) and in complete silence with a traumatised look and his hair was now white. No one knows how he did it and no one dared to ask.
After the war. He lied to Urik's family saying that he died honorably and retired from the army. Now he travels without a real prupose using his skills and strength to help whoever he sees that requires help.
I’m always polite and respectful. I can stare down a hell hound without flinching. I’m haunted by memories of war. I can’t get the images of violence out of my mind. I don’t talk about the things that torments me. I’d rather not burden others with my curse.
Nationality: Aundarian.
How your character feels about their nations participation in the Last War: He was ok with the Nation's participation on the war at first, but became disillusioned of it after he killed his best friend and killing many civilians.
Rumors (will reveal the truth in the campaign):
The bad one: he will kill anyone who stands in his way to get to his goals (whatever gol he has at the moment).
The good one: He was the first to stop fighting in one of the last battles in the war and was the one responsible to the end of that entire battle by knocking out, incapacitating and/or tiring everyone that tried to attack him or the soldiers of the other nation. He even helped his "enemies" to stay alive.

Afraid I’ve just got the phb on here so your gonna have to rely on content you own unless we can get a players with content sharing.
I am interested and hope to be selected.

D&D since 1984
Will you be playing on dnd beyond or discord?
Discord play-by-post lover. Hater of westmarches. Just gimme some character driven gameplay please.
I'm good with either, but find Discord much easier to roll.
D&D since 1984
I'm interested.

I will be running this on dndbeyond.
How would you like ability scores to be done? Standard starting equipment or something else?
I'm interested and looking forward to play.

Bonds:
Those who fight beside me are those worth dying for.
I fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.
I would sacrifice my life and my soul to protect the innocent.
A terrible guilt consumes me. I hope that I can find redemption through my actions.
Flaws:
The monstrous thing I became in the war still leaves me quivering with fear.
Ideals:
I try to help those in need, no matter what the personal cost. (Good)
Greater Good. Our lot is to lay down our lives in defense of others. (Good)
Live and Let Live. Ideals aren’t worth killing over or going to war for. (Neutral).
Personality traits:
I’m always polite and respectful. I can stare down a hell hound without flinching. I’m haunted by memories of war. I can’t get the images of violence out of my mind. I don’t talk about the things that torments me. I’d rather not burden others with my curse.
