I'm running a ToD campaign and I have room for an extra player (since someone dropped out permanently). The Cult of the Dragon has been active in Faerûn for centuries. It has focused on making undead dragons to fulfill a prophecy most of that time, but that’s changing. As the Cult of the Dragon has grown bolder, its actions have drawn attention. Your character has stumbled into the Cult’s scheme in some manner or has a connection to dragons. For some reason (once you get selected we work out the details) you find yourself in Greenest, that has just been raided by the Dragon Cult. While you're there a party of adventurers returns from a mission to the raiders' camp.
The current party has a Rogue, a Barbarian, a Druid, a Cleric, a Ranger and an adopted Kobold. The Ranger and Kobold are currently on a sidequest and MIA.
How to apply I'm looking for a level 3 character, no critical role/MTG/Eberron content (enable homebrew though), you may choose a Background, and 1 addiontial feat (also no Tasha's). You can take standard equipment. I'll be using Milestone btw.
Backstory: Ruby was a member of what she thought was a local church of charity who helped out the needy in her home city. As she worked there though she noticed strange occurrences where people would go missing or secretive talks connected with the group. She approached a elf deacon named Frost who she trusted and shared her concerns. He assured her that he would investigate and let her know what he found. A couple of days later he told her to meet him in a private room so they could discuss the matter. There she was subdued and discovered that the core of the church were secretly followers of the blood demon and used the organization as cover to recruit and find sacrifices. Valentine was set to be the next victim but the ritual was interrupted by the local authorities who had been tipped off by someone. The parts of the ritual that had been completed however left Valentine cursed with the need to feed on blood. She now lives to hunt this group down and if possible bring about an end to the blood demon.

Name: Valery Lockheart
Race: Tiefling
Class: Bard (Swords)
Background: Entertainer
Free Feat: Warcaster
Backstory: Valery was the child of two humans from a small town, who run a small and simple tavern frequented by farmers after their day of working the fields. No one knew why Valery was born with the appearance of a devil, and although she didn’t look as ‘human’, as all the other baby’s her age, her parents still loved her and raised her as best they could. Valery grew up in the tavern, learning how to trick the drunk farmers into giving her coin, and learning how to use a sword by the town guards who would come in after their shift. From a young age Valery was taught how to play several musical instruments, and could be found entertaining guests on most days of the week. As she grew older, her skills and both music and the way of the sword increased, so much to a point where she was able to channel magic through her music. A few weeks ago, while on the way back from a trip to the nearest down to get supplies, Valery returned to find the village in ruins. Speaking to a few of the survivors she heard that a dragon had attacked along with a group of people, she discovered that they had left in the way of Greenest. Swearing vengeance Valery head out to find those responsible for her villages destruction. (Happy to change the last part of there is another way for her to go to greenest)
Backstory: Colwyn was a soldier in the army and stationed in an outpost that fought many battles against the Orcs and bandits. Wile fighting he took a particular fondness to weapons with a long reach and currently wields a glaive (polearm master from variant human and sentinel from additional feet). After leaving the service has set out to explore the lands to seek adventure and fortune.

Her father is an archfiend while her mother was the human cult leader. Due to being a half-devil with strong fiend blood in her veins she always had strange devil powers (The Warlock and Sorcerer features). She looked like a tiefling but had a few oddities such as having more human-looking eyes rather than the solid colored eyes of tieflings. She had clawed hands and feet too. Her archfiend dad had big plans for her. The plans themselves were not something Damaia herself understood very well but she knew one thing for sure; she wanted no part of it. Damaia desires freedom to carve out her own path in life and be her own person instead of being a pawn in her dad's plan. To regain ownership of her soul, she had a deal with her dad that she would go find a certain magical artifact. Currently she believes that artifact is with the Dragon Cult. Class: Monk (Way of the Open Hand)
Background: Noble
Free Feat: (I don't have access to many feats on DDB, but if content sharing is enabled, I would like to have the Mobile Feat)
Backstory: Nygil was the second son in a family of nobles. Though he never showed any interest in taking his fathers place (or getting rid of his older brother), his family was to paranoid to trust him...especially after he took interest in martial arts. So, they sent him away to a monastery to train as a monk. It was their way of banishing him but also giving him what he wanted. He didn't realize this until he completed his training at the monastery and tried to go home. He wasn't allowed back through the gates because the guards mysteriously couldn't verify his scroll of pedigree. Angry, he decided to head out on his own and make a life for himself as an adventurer. Perhaps someday he'll try for home again, perhaps not.

Backstory: Nixi was born to middle-class gnomish parents who were respected jewelers and clockmakers. However, when she was only 10 years old, her parents died in a fire which burned down their home and shoppe. There were whispers that it was arson, perhaps from a dissatisfied customer or rival artisan. Suddenly, Nixi was left without family or means; everything of value had been lost in the fire. She lived on the streets for a time, living off scraps and what she could "borrow" from others. Eventually, a kindly human mage caught her with a few tomes she had pinched from his library. Instead of punishing her, he saw the magical potential, and decided to take her as an apprentice. Nixi studied with him for twenty years, until one day he disappeared without a trace. After waiting for months with no word from her mentor, Nixi set out again, full of sadness and rage at being orphaned a second time.
Backstory: Cedric comes from a family of halflings that have long been in service to a Genie in order to pay back an ancient debt. In order to pay back what they owe each of them have been granted a small measure of the beings power in order to perform services or to collect items of interest for their patron. When he came of age Cedric made a pact and left home to begin a journey of his own. That was five years ago and now with a new interest in something happening he was ordered to investigate something to do with dragons.
(okay I hope to make this properly this time, apologies about the previous posts, I will do one post with the rolls then make another post for rerolling ones and finally one for actually applying. Name: Ormurr Silverthread (usually introduces himself as Orm)
Race: Hill Dwarf
Class: Sorcerer (Dragon Bloodline)
Backstory: The Silverthread are a noble family of Dwarves whose fortune was built thanks to the silver mines they own. Although they usually speak not such matters in public, they are largely rumored to share ancestry with Silver Dragons. Some children born of this house even seem to show common traits with those, notably silver in their hair and beard, and can even show magical abilities. The Silverthread being traditionalist and conservative, they give those children special training but completely remove them from the line of succession. Ormurr is one such child, and a wayward son at that. More busy with meddling with commoners and gambling than fulfilling his family's duty, he was temporarily sent off on a mission for them that he failed as he got attacked by agressors who seemed to target him specifically. What he at first took for regular ruffians trying to kidnap him may in fact belong to a Cult related to dragons, and perhaps trying to get him for even more sinister purpose. He is decided on finding a crew set on investigating it so he can find the truth of it and perhaps dwart further attempts against himself.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
Backstory: (Noble Background) He was always a free spirit in the fey realms, and broke the rules as often as he could. One of those rules was never to cross into the mortal realm's forest, to leave those poor human simpletons alone. But he broke that rule. And he got, well... it is sort of embarrassing really, he got stuck there. Thankfully for him, physically, he resembled a cute elfin boy, and was adopted by said simpletons. He was raised as a ward to a minor noble house, and given his proper names. He was privileged to the best tutors, and the best educations, and he learned their ways, slowly forgetting the old ways of the fey. He cherished his adoptive parents, and...in time, his adoptive parent's children grew of age and took over, and he cherished them too. And then.. well, their children eventually grew old, and then theirs. These poor humans just lived a handful of decades it seemed, it was pretty strange, but also tragic.
To keep the locals happy he periodically took on an additional nth, pretending to be his own son's son's son's... It kept questions at bay. "The young elven scholar has been staying in the keep for generations" is harder to explain than "the son of Archibald the 6th has come to follow in his father's footsteps". Everything was going great, at least according to Achy; he was perfectly content studying magic in this mortal realm, free of the fey constraints, the rules, the courts... but everything changed when the fire dragons attacked. Cultists came to steal something, and killed a lot of people doing it. In all the battle and chaos, Achy isn't proud to say it, but he hid. He ducked in a hide-y-hole and waited out the conflict.
He emerged some hours later, after the quiet settled in. All the carnage, the loss, the abject horror of what he saw changed something in him. In his hundred years of life he'd never felt this, anger. He'd never felt this, shame. He could have done something, couldn't he have? Yes, yes he could. And he would. He'd find those responsible for this tragedy. He'd find those that had disrupted his life and ended so many others. So he set out. Where? Bah. Fate would surely guide him in the right direction.
